Li'sin Ar Intervenes

Although The Wasted Lands is its own island, it is not far from Li'sin Ar. The change from fruit and vegetables to fish and farm animals as a food source due to the difficulty in growing enough fruit and vegetables on the island and the pirates preventing shipments from arriving meant that Li'sin Ar would take action sooner or later.

The first signs of change happened when farm animals began tasting rotten, even when freshly slaughtered. Then fish began disappearing, with larger and larger sea monsters taking their place. Eventually, only sea monsters were to be found in the waters around The Wasted Lands. As fishermen began increasingly sailing further out to catch fish, the sea monsters spread too, until eventually, they could no longer travel out far enough for fear of pirate and sea monster attacks.   Instead, the fishermen decided to build bigger ships and bigger hooks to catch and eat the sea monsters. This then evolved to the arms race between fishers and Li'sin Ar that persists to this day where increasingly large sea monsters keep appearing and the fishermen reinforce their ships more and more to catch them.
