With food rapidly diminishing due to Li'sin Ar's influence the adventurers on The Wasted Land became increasingly worried about the food situation. This eventually led them to act out and try to procure their own food. When the pirates blocked this, it quickly escalated.

When the first reports came back that their ship had been sunk the adventurers were very unhappy. Quickly they formed into a guild themselves and began plotting what to do. This started with destroying the docked ship of the pirates that had sunk the adventurer's ship, which in turn broke the Code of Conduct for Piracy created by Deanna 'Devil's Charm' Hastings which meant that everything was free game once again.   The conflict quickly turned deadly with the pirates not willing to give up their safe ports and the adventurers not being able to leave the area or get food without raiding pirate ships.
