Exploration of the Inkwater Marsh

Although it took several decades the lizardfolk eventually managed to overpower and suppress the undead spawning in the Inkwater Marsh. As they did so exploration began and they eventually split up into different clans each with different goals.

The initial fight against the undead had been hard won but many lizardfolk still wanted to explore the marshes either in search of a safe place or in search of the root cause of all the undead. Initially, this led them through a pass in the Blackmist Peaks where they soon discovered an area where undead seemingly spawned at random. Here they decided to set up a base which would eventually become known as Chessenta, or "the front line" in the lizardfolk tongue.   Others decided to climb the mountains and yet others decided to get as close to the world tree as possible. Yet others travelled out of the marshes and towards a solitary mountain to the northeast.
