The First Scar

The he first scar is a gulf originally created when the legendary hero Bob Goodbody fought the demonic mastermind that destabilized the world during his time. It is said that the killing blow that cut the demon in half was so powerful that it also split the land and created this Gulf. The exact weapon used is lost to the ages.   Since this gulf was created many strange events have happened from several mass extinctions of the life in it, to changes of colour, or even almost drying out. Due to these events the arch druid has established two elven cities along the gulf to monitor and record whatever might happen.   Currently the gulf is mostly barren with limited amount of fishes being available to fishermen. Despite this there are enough for cities to do some fishing and sometimes even smaller aberration may be caught. Although most travelers will not eat them, many locals have gotten used the strange idea so they appear in most menus of inns. This is hardly a new phenomenon as The First Scar often changes rapidly and unpredictably causing many strange creatures to come and go as it happens. As such it is not uncommon to have truly strange creatures on old menus in inns with some inns even still serving those creatures preserved for a premium. This is in fact one of the many reasons people travel to The First Scar: in order to taste the weird and wonderful. This has in turn caused inn keepers to preserve food for even longer as heavy premiums are put on food that cannot be found anywhere else.   Recently there does seem to be an increase in the amount of fish in the gulf which many fishermen are looking favorably upon. Despite this the Holy Order of Druids are cautious about this as the gulf may change at any moment causing another mass extinction, or even become inhospitable to mortals around it.
