Vasilakis-Chaconas Ekp 1342
The
Vasilakis-Chaconas Ekilypo 1342 is an air-cooled medium machine gun designed by
Ermis Chaconas and produced by
Vasilakis Arms. It has a distinctive appearance, with disc-shaped cooling fins around its massive barrel.
It was adopted as the standard MMG of the
Kaisan Army in the early days of the
Last War. The
Kingdom of Campeni adopted it as well. It has been produced in several calibers.

The Chaconas Ekp 1342 uses 24-round metal strips inserted from the side (1.5 lbs., or 26.4 lbs. for 12 strips in can) -- or alternatively, 30-round strips (1.9 lbs., or 15 lbs. for 6 strips in can). The strips connect to make crude belts, if required. A spare barrel weighs 23.3 lbs. (treat as extra-heavy for sustained fire). The Ekp 1342 mounts on a tall, 53-lb. tripod (2850 G), usually equipped with a metal seat for the gunner).
The original model, the
Vasilakis-Chaconas Ekp 1325, with a 36.5-lb. tripod, saw limited use, mainly by the
Kaisan Colonial Auxiliaries. However, it was exported in several calibers.
