Bes
Bes is a grotesque but cheerful dwarf god of luck and protection. His fearsome visage is believed to scare away evil spirits. Even more so than Bast, he is a chaotic deity who operates on whims, caring little for the morality of those who implore him for aid. He delights in gambling and small children.

Tenets of Faith
Bes champions the innocence and safety of children, believing that their joyful, pure spirit is the ultimate expression of luck and life. It is said that a baby's unexplained laughter is a sign of his invisible presence protecting them. His worship lacks formal structure or dogma, emphasizing the belief that all blessings are whims of fortune. People call on him for luck and to protect their homes, women in childbirth, and children. He accepts gifts and sacrifices from anyone, regardless of their moral standing, seeing mortal prayers as little more than a form of cosmic gambling.
Clergy and Temples
Bes has few formal clerics, who are generally seen as rapscallions and scoundrels. They operate as protective and mischievous figures in society, taking delight in protecting the innocent through whimsical means. He has no formal temples and is worshipped at countless household shrines, gambling halls, and taverns; small, ugly statues of Bes are often placed in nurseries and near thresholds to ward off ill luck and spirits.
