Rahm'mafal
Rahm'mafal, the heartland of the goliath people, stretches out as an elongated island, approximately 700 miles in length and 250 miles at its widest point. The island is an embodiment of the goliaths' spirit - resilient, serene, and captivating in its rugged beauty.
Running through most of the island's length is the formidable Nordrskol mountain range, its snow-capped peaks standing like silent sentinels against the skyline. Among these mountains, the towering peak of Hjor'Gandur reigns supreme, its summit perpetually wreathed in storm clouds, a constant reminder of the gods watching over their people.
The northern part of Rahm'mafal is a vast expanse of tundra, a land of frost and snow that tests the goliaths' resilience. This region is home to several settlements, including the town of Rptherglen, located on a smaller, always snow-covered island to the north. Other towns in this region include Skjolgard, a fishing and hunting community, and Vindrheim, known for its artisans who create intricate carvings from mammoth and walrus ivory.
The temperate southern region of Rahm'mafal is a stark contrast to its northern counterpart. Here, the tundra gives way to pine forests and fertile plains, offering a bounty of resources for the goliath clans. The capital, Quan'Ma, is nestled in the southern tip of Rahm'mafal, cradled within the protective embrace of a bay named Varmtangen, or "Warm Tongue." This name reflects the bay's relatively mild waters, which serve as a natural harbor for the capital.
Quan'Ma, a sprawling settlement of sturdy longhouses and communal spaces, showcases the goliaths' architectural prowess and their deep connection with nature. The town's structures, crafted from the timbers of the surrounding forests and adorned with carvings of goliath lore, blend seamlessly into the landscape. Other southern towns include Hartholm, renowned for its skilled blacksmiths, and Bjarnfell, a settlement situated at the foot of a hill, famous for its bear hunters.
Rahm'mafal is not just a land, but a testament to the goliath spirit. Every mountain, every forest, and every town echoes with stories of their resilience, their unity, and their reverence for the land and the gods that watch over them.
