Taesaf

The Taesaf are a culture of the Lomyn folk that live on the western side of Dlynaeth, from the sea to Nupoñu (the largest river of Dlynaeth). They have heads strongly similar to those of mountain sheep and an anthropoid torso and arms, though with a short tail. Their legs rather combine the two which have two-toed hooves and fur from halfway down the thighs.

So long ago that it's but faintly remembered the Taesaf originated in the Kynfesan, the high mountains in the centre of the continent, but emigrated to the western coast of Dlynaeth. Originally they settled at the base of the Tolach Naelath mountains, spreading out not much to the north and south but eastwards towards the Nupoñu river. Although the Kynfesan Exodus is faintly remembered, the Taesaf themselves do not know their exact beginnings. Yet it is commonly assumed that they originated in a magic-rich area of the Kynfesan. Although they are obviously somewhat magical in nature they have only moderate access in terms of using it. More than some other peoples, but they're a fairly mundane species. For a mundane species, they have a strong connection with nature; this is what most of their magic is related to. Although it used to be quite a powerful, innate connection their relationship with nature has become more technical and removed as their relationship with magic has become increasingly focused on agricultural production, partly under influence from their direct neighbours to the east, Byrfenna, a nation that controls much trade in the area.

The Taesaf Realm

The Taesaf primarily reside in a realm called Tyldamin, which is described above, but there are certainly other Taesaf who live further to the north and south. These mostly live in realms of more mixed folk, whereas Tyldamin is more homogenous. Tyldamin's capital city, Medloth, is located on the Senu river, between the Tolach Naelath mountains and the sea. There are two other towns of major importance, the first being Kopaen on the western shore of the Nupoñu lake. The other town is Chaem which is located at the base of the Tolach Naelath and above the Kynfesdal river, to the north of Medloth.
Dlynaeth
A substantial continent on the southern hemisphere of the world, Dlynaeth is a place of many different folk as well as great and varied magical potential. This map was drawn up in the year of 1241, according to the reckoning of the Tyldamin Triumvirate. It depicts the main geographical features of the continent as well as various settlements and others concerns.

The Taesáf tend to wear knee length trousers, tied up in the back to make space for their tails. The knee length is because the opposite bends of the knee and the heel would make the trousers catch uncomfortably while walking. It's also more convenient for climbing. Aside from this, they have fur from about halfway down their thighs so they don't really need to keep the lower leg warm except in very cold weather.   This characteristic piece of clothing is often paired with a loose shirt, currently often with billowing sleeves (especially for those who are not hampered by the constraints of practicality), and a short, sleeveless vest.
