Session 083: Trap Street Report
To find the Cats of Ultharr the party must get drunk then hope they stumble into a Trap Street

The party's adventure began with the interrogation of a captured snake-like humanoid, who revealed the location of a special plant growing near lava walls. After moving through the dungeon's serpentine corridors, they entered a chamber with the fluorescent plants but were plunged into magical **darkness** by a six-headed snake creature. In the ensuing chaotic battle, the party fought against multiple enemies, with **Barlo** struggling in a crushing grapple while **Shadow** used **Fairy Fire** to counter the magical **darkness**. The tide of the battle turned when **Calliope's** **Vicious Mockery** caused an enemy to drop a cage containing a sphinx of wonder named Schrodinger. After defeating their foes, the party collected the required herbs and valuable treasure before using a magical stone to teleport back to their ship. The session concluded in **Mordenkainen's** quarters, where Schrodinger revealed his true nature as a time-traveling sphinx connected to a being called the **Paradox**, while **Mordenkainen** welcomed their return.
Summary
The adventuring party known as the Wild Cards spent time resting aboard their ship while Calliope worked on completing a magical tattoo on Sas. Barlo indulged in two special "dragon shots" that cost a Gold piece each, while Calliope kept track of him by holding onto a piece of his yarn. Their investigation led them to Clara, whom they met after being guided by a local named Teeth. Barlo presented his Black Road token to establish trust, and Clara confirmed the presence of the red abishai and its dangerous cargo. The Wild Cards introduced themselves as an adventuring group, and Clara provided them with secret written directions. The party found themselves mysteriously transported to an isolated heritage building surrounded by fog, where they encountered a suspicious older Human. Calliope attempted to influence him with a Charm Person spell, while Barlo confronted him about harboring the red abishai. Sphinx of Mystery or something like that? Thinks of wonder. This Sphinx of wonder is very unique, and it seems to be tied to you guys in the sense that, sphinx of Wonders are created. |

| Yeah. But I pretty much played it out. Was, there was a lot of things we kind of wanted to use him as a as, like a kind of info dump instead of just kind of having a discussion with you guys. The Facebook chat was pretty much some of the things that he would have gone over and talk to you guys when you guys got back to the ship, and that little discussion, and what it is is that he's kind of he was created by some thoughts that some an idea that was had way back when by, Mechelen aka Grignard or as you guys |

And somehow he was captured, the Sphinx was captured and was being held by the one TS one TS being creatures to be generic of evil, but they really are because they they really, they worship evil gods. They do evil things because that's what they believe keeps their gods happy. |
| And they want to be able to have more power. And, so that is kind of their, bailiwick. And they had the Sphinx in the hopes that somehow they could use it to manipulate or control or something. With Mechelen. Which right now seems that's what that's trying to do since he's AFK, Mia as well as a few other people, and all of them seem connected to, notes that you guys have come across when you guys were in the Flying Castle where there are six individuals that seem to be highly connected due to this ancient alien race that Vecna had tried to disappear, to erase all memory and connections or history |

| And of course, then there was the other part that that which we did start with, a dialog of which was that the Sphinx of Wonder kind of explained why Ragnar was never liking Bastian pursuing the sword, and always tried to make him a Wizard was, somewhere in that stage of his, life. He was afraid that he would not be born because Mechelen or Bastian was technically his father. |
| This is a what we call a grandfather paradox. But because of the fact that technically, he's from a split timeline, it seems that. Hey, it's okay. And that's the one thing that, Grog Nord has been kind of understanding. There was, a discussion that he had with Bastian at one of the games where he kind of, said that he gave acceptance of what Bastian was doing, and this is why is that? |

| A wondrous power set up the Obsidian steed. Oh, right. You use an action to speak a Command word, you throw it to the ground, and it will become a Living creature. It will be friendly to, the person who used it and their Friends. It understands their language and obeys their spoken commands version of commands. It will defend itself or take no other action. |
| It will exist for duration specific to it. This one is will become what's called a nightmare, which is a, kind of a force. For up to 24 hours. Fights only defend itself once it has been used. It can be used again for another five days. If you have a good alignment, it has a 10% chance every time to, that you use it to ignore your orders. |
| If you mount it while it's ignoring your orders, you and your nightmare are instantly transported to a random location on the plane of Hades, where the nightmare reverts to figurine form. Nightmares are not good features. Ring of Telekinesis was the other item. It has a fountain. This one does require attunement, however. When you wear the ring, you get to cast the Telekinesis spell. |

| That was kind of the gist of what really was happening was, the Sphinx of Wonder gave you guys kind of a little bit of, understanding of his of its place, why it existed. It's connected to the and and, at the end of discussion, it does bring up since it is, it's, it is aware that you guys haven't heard of the cats of old Thor and that it might be able to help you guys connect with the cats, if that is, something you guys wanted to do. |

| What you guys have learned about the cats of author so far is that, just little tidbits, because it's only been brought up between her, or I should say, they. And, because I don't think a sphinx of wonder technically has a gender. They're just created out of thoughts. And of course, the McLean character, who he kind of disappeared to at this point. |
| I'm not sure what he went off to to go do. It could be just that he did what he had to do. But they brought up this cat, these cats of author being some type of cat creatures that exist in throughout the Dream realms. |

Cats both are is actually a, short story written by, Lovecraft, and it's pretty much is about a small little the small little village where, I guess cats are disappearing, and then all the cats end up taking their revenge on the farmer and his wife, who are killing all the cats. |

| So the tattooing is all done. So you get a an additional five feet of movement. What I was saying was that Jamie got in that 20 and hers as well. So we'll say that actually you guys were able to kind of finish it up a little bit early too. So it's not a full 14 hours of sitting there. |

| They're not what the cat's. So it's not like they exactly understand what the fears could be. But there are concerns of whether or not it might affect them. What they would wanted, though, was if they're going to help you guys, they wanted to see if you guys could help them with something first with some information I had and, it seems that there is, an egg that they're trying to find. |
| There is a, a type of Dragon called an epoch. A Dragon. And they're trying to find a, if half Dragon egg. |

| Where do we meet them? Where do we find them? Well, they just said if you can find the red aperture and get the egg back, and then, they'd be willing to see what they can do to help you. |
| That seems too easy. Well, the problem from there is we're not really sure where the abishai is or whether egg is. So we might need to look around town and see if anybody here might know anything. |

| Because, each one of these abishai, though, were once mortals, and somehow they had one tier much favor before death. And so as a reward, they found that their souls were transformed into these hideous devils to serve at her pleasure in the Nine Hells, Tiamat deploys them as emissaries, Sending them to represent her interest in the Hells and across the multiverse. |
| Sometimes they have simple tasks, such as delivering a Message to a cultist or taking charge of worshipers to carry out a sensitive mission, and sometimes others have even greater responsibilities, such as leading large groups, assassinating targets, and serving in armies. In all cases, ambushes are fanatically loyal to TMP and ready to lay down their lives if necessary. Outside of all that, seems like a pretty good gig for laying down your life for. |
| Yeah, well, they were there. It was their loyalty, more or less. Why they were rewarded this way. Yeah. The second life side of how they stand outside of the normal hierarchy of the Nine Hells. Having their own life form and ultimately answering the tlmt and even Asmodeus when the dark Lord chooses to use them. So some of them actually Work for Asmodeus. |
| Sometimes the other arch devils can Command these abishai to Work for them, but most of the arch devils do so rarely, since it is never clear whether the Abishai is following Tiamat or Asmodeus. There is inherent risk in counter managing an order given by TM, but interfering with s motives. These plans will invite certain destruction. I mean, either way, you're screwed if you mess up. |
| But these creatures have no souls. The red ones have no equals among the other sides when it comes to leadership and raw power. They can involve. They has authority to bend even dragons to their will. So these guys sound like they're kind of mean, and, like, totally got me in the. Come on. They got their noses up in the air, and everybody else, nobody could tell them what to do because just go, hey, dude, TM sent me. |

The Epoch Dragon is also known by another name. And that is a time Dragon. Yeah. It is said that their brother can Aid you, and then they can travel back and forth. |
| They are timeless in that sense. As they grow older and their scales go from the silvery to a charcoal black and, they also develop stripes that are on their body. And those stripes tend to move down their bodies and, and over time. |
| They tend to be solitary. |
| And, so that's about the gist of what he would know. Nothing too deep. Just knowing the fact that they are known as Time Dragons and that they kind of live in and out of time and kind of control time to their whims a bit. They tend to not because they're so rare is because the fact that they don't really have as much concern over what happens. |
| So it's not like, I guess I'm not like my old master trying to manipulate time, if you will. |
