Kaedin Minot

Kaedin Minot was born to a prostitute in the country of Noellia and was abandoned by his mother due to his foreign features. He was left outside to die of exposure, but was rescued by his grandmother who raised him until she passed away when he was 12. Kaedin then found himself alone on the streets of the capital of Noellia, struggling to survive as an orphan. Despite his difficult circumstances, Kaedin's bright personality and resilience shone through. He begged for work in the castle and was able to become a pageboy for the Princess due to his positive, friendly, and happy demeanor. Kaedin's fear of abandonment from his early experiences led him to protect himself by avoiding expressing negative emotions, and he learned to remain cheerful and amiable in order to win favor and secure his place in the castle.     When Kaedin first arrived in Myst from Noellia, he was initially overwhelmed by the opulence and grandeur of the Minot Mansion, which he now knew to be his ancestral home. He was in awe of the lavishness and luxury, but also felt a sense of detachment and unease. Despite being surrounded by family and wealth, Kaedin couldn't shake off the feeling of not quite belonging. He struggled with a sense of displacement, having grown up in Noellia as an abandoned child and then finding himself in a noble household in Myst, with a legacy and heritage he hadn't known before.   As Kaedin settled into his new life in Myst and learned more about his Minot lineage, he gradually found a sense of belonging and acceptance among his newfound family. However, deep-rooted feelings of insecurity and fear of abandonment still lingered beneath his cheerful façade, leading to occasional breakdowns as he struggled to express and process negative emotions.   As an old man, Kaedin had come a long way from his early days on the streets of Noellia. He had risen in the ranks of nobility, but still carried the emotional scars of his past. Despite finding a place where he technically belonged in the Minot Mansion, Kaedin's journey was one of navigating his complex emotions and finding a true sense of home within himself, beyond his external circumstances.   Kaedin Minot's character was shaped by his early experiences of abandonment, his survival instincts, and his coping mechanism of maintaining a positive facade. He had a bright and cheerful personality but struggled with expressing negative emotions, and his journey involved finding a sense of belonging and home within himself as he navigated his way through the complexities of his past and present circumstances.

History

During Tocho's visit to Myst, Kaedin often accompanied him to the Ruroushin caravan, intrigued by the nomadic way of life and the sense of freedom it represented. The caravan became a haven for him, a place where he could temporarily escape the formalities of the noble life and embrace the simplicity of the open road. One afternoon, as Kaedin wandered through the bustling market in Myst, he noticed a commotion near a stall selling exquisite fabrics. Curiosity piqued, he made his way through the crowd and saw a young woman fiercely negotiating with the merchant. Her striking silver eyes and fiery spirit caught Kaedin's attention, and he couldn't help but be captivated by her determination.   As the negotiations continued, Kaedin couldn't resist joining the conversation, offering a few words of advice on bargaining that he had picked up from Tocho during their travels together. His input proved to be valuable, and the woman - Lillia - managed to strike a fair deal with the merchant.   Amused by the encounter, Lillia turned her attention to the young man who had intervened. She thanked Kaedin for his assistance, and they struck up a conversation. Kaedin was drawn to Lillia's wit and confidence, while Lillia found herself charmed by Kaedin's genuine and caring nature.   Over the course of Tocho's visit, Kaedin and Lillia continued to run into each other at the market and the Ruroushin caravan. They shared stories of their respective worlds and discovered shared interests and values. Lillia's free-spirited nature and Kaedin's sense of adventure formed a perfect complement, and they found solace in each other's company.   As Tocho prepared to depart once more, Kaedin couldn't bear the thought of parting ways with Lillia. He mustered the courage to express his feelings for her, revealing how much he had enjoyed their time together and how he couldn't imagine life without her.   To his delight, Lillia reciprocated his feelings, confessing that she had been equally taken by him since the moment they met. Despite the societal barriers that separated them - Kaedin a commoner in the eyes of Mystian nobility and Lillia a member of the prestigious House Renaud - their connection was undeniable.   With Tocho's support and blessing, Lillia and Kaedin embarked on a secret romance, meeting in hidden corners of the city and exchanging letters through the Ruroushin caravan. The challenges of their different worlds only strengthened their bond, as they navigated the complexities of love in the face of tradition and expectations.   Eventually, with Tocho's diplomatic mission further bridging the gap between Noellia and Myst, the couple's love story became a symbol of unity and understanding. Lillia's parents, recognizing the authenticity of their daughter's feelings and the bond she shared with Kaedin, offered their consent to their union.   In a joyous celebration that combined elements of both Noellian and Mystian traditions, Kaedin and Lillia were married, uniting their hearts and their worlds. The ceremony was a testament to the power of love, breaking barriers and forging a new path of acceptance and harmony.   As they journeyed through life together, Kaedin and Lillia continued to cherish the nomadic spirit that had brought them together. They traveled with Tocho and the Ruroushin caravan on numerous occasions, immersing themselves in the beauty of the world and the freedom of the open road.
