Morran Decannith
Morran Decannith was one of House Cannith's "wayward children." Originally from Eston, in Cyre, Morran came to early notoriety in his family when at eight, his father Aaren was excoriated from the house and he and his sibling were adopted by their grandfather, Merrix I. He once asked his grandfather what happened to the "forgeborn" that used to live with his parents. He still remembers the tastes of his grandfather's leather glove and his own blood he received in response.
When Merrix II was assigned to Cannith South in Sharn, he sent Morran with them to "help the boy learn." Morran's take on it is that he was banished to sit next to grandfather's golden child and stay out of the way, a role he found increasingly uncomfortable, especially as Merrix would tell their grandfather about everything Morran did. When Morran published a paper on arcane healing at Morgrave University and explicitly suggested this could be a first step towards becoming forged, Merrix I heard within days and Morran's name was removed from the family's annual sponsorship roster as punishment.
The real indignity, however, came in 992 when Morran attempted to replace his left forearm with forged components. Despite the agony of the procedure and the subsequent mana bleed, Merrix I could only see the "indecency" of his grandson's ideas. In response, he pressured Starrin to have Morran excoriated, the dragonmark flensed from his back and his name stricken from their records.
Morran doesn't know how he ended up in the sewer. He was in and out of consciousness on the regular while his body tried to heal itself from his half-complete rebuild. He woke up to Lem tending an infection at the seam of his merging and welcoming him back from Dolurrh's Gate. Morran knows Lem was hired to take care of him, but has never figured out who. This makes him somewhat distrustful of his caretaker, despite Lem's professionalism.
Once he had recovered from his ordeal and gotten his new arm properly attached, he asked the party for help in escorting him to meet with d'Cannith Jorlanna and Zorlan, the heads of Cannith West and East, respectively. He needed their help in confronting Merrix II about the contents of their basement lab, in which Morran feared Merrix II was trying to recreate whatever terrible procedure had resulted in the Day of Mourning.

History
Jorlanna and Morran grew up around one another in Cyre. They were part of the Inclusions together -- so named because of a common epithet Merrix I used for them and Zorlan when they "acted out of line," according to the old man.
