d'Cannith Jorlanna
Matriarch of Cannith West, Jorlanna is a human woman, fifty-two years old, and the daughter of Starrin by his second wife, Elsabet I. She's also Morran Decannith's cousin, though the old Gorgon -- Jorlanna's father -- had him excoriated in 991. Despite what her father told her, she's long believed it was d'Cannith Merrix I, who was responsible for Morran's excoriation. Given he had banished her old boyfriend, d'Deneith Cailan, and their daughter Elsabet II, for daring to "mix houses," Morran's disappearance from the family was only more fuel for her smoldering hatred of the Old Man.
Jorlanna currently serves as matriarch of Cannith West, centered in Fairhaven. However, that may not be true for much longer: the artificer recently invited Emmer Sykes to a private meeting at which she was noted by several parties as having given schemata for what she claimed to be a "skillshare" relic, but which Bell easily identified as more of a remote puppetry rig. Sykes himself was the sage that invented the rust plague, a magical disease whose deliberate release was deemed a war crime by the Treaty of Thronehold and which had been deliberately released by Cyran forces against the Brelish town of Kennrun during the Last War. At least one member of Queen Aurala's court saw Sykes in Jorlanna's company, and she was last seen leaving House Cannith's stronghold to bear witness to her liege. Jorlanna's time as head of the house is likely near an end.
That is, if her new boyfriend, d'Orien Palor, doesn't have a word with his current employers....

Jorlanna and Morran grew up around one another in Cyre. They were part of the Inclusions together -- so named because of a common epithet Merrix I used for them and Zorlan when they "acted out of line," according to the old man.
