Talina, Goddess of Agriculture and Luck
The Harvest Is Nigh
For the longest time, Seltor had been in charge of the domain of agriculture. Humans were already figuring out how to farm massive amounts of land and domesticate most animals, and they were already pretty much in the bronze age upon their creation. They were now at the turn of the iron age, and one farmer in Ashtree decided to completely overturn that progression. He had already amassed a large number of followers, and he had created a cult that followed one of the Old Gods. In return for their sacrifices and prayers, their crops grew faster than was naturally possible and were of amazing quality. The True Gods, of course, considered this heresy. They transformed into their mortal guises and got ready to confront the cult, but before they could, a celestial being rose from the crop fields. This being was Talina, and although they were ready to destroy her, she explained that she was the culmination of the cult's determination and dedication to farming. The Primordials could sense she was one of their kind, so they decided to let her join their ranks, though they were cautious. Everything seemed all right, however, as all of her followers received nearly supernatural crop growth and quality, and the same went for any animals they were domesticating. All signs were pointing to the fact that she was probably the very same Old God that the cult was worshipping, but she seemed benevolent. Besides, Seltor and Valniet are pretty much Old Gods themselves; they just rebelled, and that's what sets them apart. Every Divine is really a descendant of the Old Gods anyway. Some radical Valnietists accuse Seltorians of heresy by using the reasoning that they're worshipping an Old God, but as was just explained, that logic makes no sense. Unsurprisingly, she is the most worshipped deity in all of the kingdom, seeing as most of the population is made up of peasants and serfs that work on farmland. Her domains extend to domesticated animals and luck, though most people don't have an explanation for the latter. Either way, she is worshipped whenever someone needs good luck. Seeing how broad "luck" is as a category, combined with agriculture, you can see why farmers, ranchers, gamblers, and adventurers alike all worship her. Even people who aren't Seltorians occasionally sacrifice something to her. She is sometimes associated with fertility rather than luck, likely because of the whole agriculture thing. Her messenger angels typically assume the form of old traveling women or serpents. Her holy symbol is a green and silver sickle.
