Paragon, God of War and Justice
(Not) A Very Good Role Model
During the rule of the Old Gods, two dwarves on the Prison Plane were having an argument over who should get ownership of a gold ore vein, and Valniet was too busy deciding on the world's natural laws during this time. Out of their pure hatred and spite, they got into a fistfight, the first true mortal battle in this multiverse. The concept of what they were doing was unbeknownst to any mortal being, and so their simple brawl manifested a flaming angelic being next to them, floating above their heads with a mighty sword ready to be brought down upon their heads. Instead, this being spared them, and told them they could work together on the vein and split the profits, and they could clear out the cave full of gold faster that way. If any of them broke this vow, however, they shall be punished by this being. This being was Paragon, and he is usually the arbiter of any divine judiciary problems. He also happens to be not only the deity that covers for Valniet's most important domains, but also the god of war. And although most of the Calmkin don't really have emotions as their domain, his existence definitely supports hatred and fury, so most people that aren't Valnietists can't really understand how he is hailed as the god of justice. His holy symbol is even a flame, and most of his messenger angels (and sometimes himself) appear as literal talking fires of fury. Most who revere him are soldiers and guards, but not so much so judges, since that's more Valniet's domain.Holidays
On the last day of February, there is a large celebration in honor of all those who have died in war, usually involving burning incense and lighting pyres made of flammable material with the names of the dead on them. It is a day focused heavily on somber contemplation, and sorrow is usually quite the opposite of Paragon.
