Psionics
Psionics are inborn casters who can manipulate their bodies and extend their will beyond their body. Often mistaken to be Sorcery, their effects are not reliant on magic and are not detectable through magical senses or are interpretable by Wizardry.
History of Psionics
The source of Psionics is unknown, initially developing in Foreclaimers and randomly occurring in other Ancestries over time. Pactborn children of those who make Pacts with beings of the Far Realm often have Psionic powers.
Dangers of Psionics
Mental Damage
Overuse of Psionics can degrade and destroy the mind of the Psionic or damage their bodies. While bodily damage can typically be healed, only some mental damage can be recovered from leading to the Psionic destroying their intellect and will, eventually entering a vegetative state
Social Risks
Similar to Sorcery, as Psionic powers manifest they react to emotional state and can act outside of the Psionic's will. As such, young Psionics are often mistaken for Sorcerers and are hunted for the Blood Bounty. The Pathkeepers have done nothing to dissuade this for their own reasons. As such Psionic abilities are hidden and risky to make known.
Limits of Psionics
Psionics are limited to enhancing their own bodies, enacting their will on other intelligences, and making limited manipulations of reality.
