Platicalex Empire

Interstellar empire of Dragon King Humbata, Platicalex is a nation primarily inhabited by Dragons, Dragonborn, Kobolds, and Humans. Small numbers of various other races live there, mostly as dignitaries or for business purposes while the few remaining have chosen Humbata and Platicalex as their new God, Lord, and Homeland.

Structure

As both the head of state and government, Dragon King Humbata is the ultimate authority in any platicalen matter; be it military or civilian.   Directly under Humbata sits the Wyrm-Lords of Platicalex, forming the Council of Wyrms. Each Great-Wyrm to hold this position is hand picked by the Dragon King, hand picked by meeting standards known only to King and God. As a member of the Council, each represents and leads one of the variours orginizations that forms the platicalex government. Handling the day to day businesses of the empire is the duty of the Wyrm Lords. It is thanks to the Wyrm Lords that the King remains unbothered by things that could unduly distract the Crystal King for more important matters.   Below the Wyrm-Lords, the various leadership positions can be taken and held by any member of any race that follows the the Dragon King and calls Platicalex home. By virtue of demographics, positions of power are almost entirely held by Dragonbon, Humans, and Kobolds.

Culture

Overall, Platicalex's culture revolves around the pride and majestic might of dragons and the boundless creative ingenuity of mortals. Together, both Mortal and Dragon find unity and purpose in their shared devotion to Humbata, and his ideals of justice and honor. The blending of draconic traditions and the unique characteristics of the races of Platicalex has created a culture that values growth through collaboration and understanding.

  1. Draco-Centric: Given it's nature, Platicalex is full dragon-related symbolism. Dragon-related motifs, art, and stories are prevalent throughout the nation and are viewed as celebrating the heritage and strength the mighty beings.
  2. Unity and Diversity: Platicalex is home to multiple races: Primarily dragons, dragonborn, kobolds, and humans. Other races call Platicalex home and kneel to the Dragon King, but they are a small minority among the masses. The culture of Platicalex works towards integrating with the other peoples that live under the rule of the Dragon King.
  3. Spirituality: As an Empire of a Crystal King, the nation's spiritual foundations are centered around their deity, Humbata, and his Avatar the Dragon King. Temples, shrines, and spiritual practices are an aspect of daily life for many Platicalens. While every temple is dedicated to Humbata, most contain shrines to honor the other Gods and their Crystal Kings. Any support or furtherance of the faiths of the Traitor Kings and their Gods are considered both legal and spiritual transgressions.
  4. Cultural Festivals: most worlds of the Platicalex hold at least one cultural festival a year. While they have multiple benefits, they are also useful for helping integrate those new to Platicalex life.
  5. Artistry and Craftsmanship: Platicalex, as a nation, has a history of artistry and craftsmanship. No doubt in at least part due to the standards the dragons of the nation place on products of such skills. Dragon-themed sculptures, tapestries, and jewelry are naturally a popular form of expression in the empire. Each race contributes to arts and creativity of Platicalex in their own way.
  6. Educational Pursuits: Platicalex places a strong emphasis on education and knowledge. The House of Knowledge, led by Valoskad Alaguthix, is a hub for scholarly pursuits, research, and innovation. Knowledge and the pursuit of it is upheld as a pillar of civilized platicalen society.
  7. Respect for Nature: Given the partly elemental nature of dragons, Platicalex holds the natural world in high regard. Even on a city covered planet like Rubicalex, efforts are made to maintain vast terrariums and artificial nature preserves, to ensure that the natural world survives in some form.
  8. Ceremonial Garb: Traditional attire often incorporates dragon-themed designs, such as scales of metallic colors. Religious occasions may call for specific garments that symbolize the roles and responsibilities of the individuals participating.
  9. Honoring Ancestry: Ancestral lineage and history hold significance in Platicalex. Family stories are passed down through generations, and individuals often take pride in their lineage's contributions to the nation's growth. The oldest of family dynasties can trace their roots back to the World-That-Was.
