Crystal Kings

Long ago, all of creation existed as one world, the World-That-Was. The four Ruinous Powers of Evil, created and led by evil god Kardioz, were used in a pursuit to corrupt and claim all of creation. Though he was defeated and imprisoned, his Ruinous Powers continued to fight and nearly won. Only by the hope and light of the Great Crystals were the Gods able to stop the spreading corruption and save the world. However, the Great Crystals had too been touched by this corruption and so broke the world in two, casting the gods from their place at the side of mortal followers.

To take the place of the Gods came their Avatars, the Kings, each intrinsically tied to one of the Great Crystals. Each of the Kings lead interstellar empires of countless trillions, commanding incredible armies while wielding the divine power of the Gods. Despite the previous victory of the gods, evil is once again on the rise, from the familiar Traitor Kings and their Fiendish allies, to forces both strange and alien. Insidious cults and other foes weaken the Kings and their allies from within while armies marshal to destroy them without. Though the hour is grim, the bright light of hope is not lost, for the Crystal Kings and their allies now call to war amongst the stars.

Vast armies rally to give battle in their names across uncounted worlds while others are saved and lost by the actions of a few. So too are countless worlds lost and damned by actions of both the many and the few. To be alive in such times is to be one amongst uncountable others, to bear witness to the rising darkness. Regardless of who or what you are, all will have some role to play in battle for the fate of creation.
