Cosmetics Guild

Now why would a guild build its headquarters in a land known for mining? That is because the ores can be used to create pigments. Gaullium is also on the coast where small sea creatures can be turned into pigments. The guild also has large gardens of plants that can be harvested for pigments.

Culture

Members of the guild are dedicated to the creation of "make-up". This includes cosmetics for personal and commercial use. For those who act on stage, their make-up is different than what is used by the general public. The guild creates both versions.

Stage 'Make-up'

Most stage make-up is crafted to be a paste or thick liquid. This is so it can be seen from the far seats of the theatre and is better at picking up the stage lights. It is thicker than cosmetics used for personal use but it is also less refined. Stage make-up has more in common with the warpaints of old than the cosmetics of the present day.

Personal 'Make-up'

These cosmetics have undergone many forms and iterations. Their current iteration a collection of powders that while wet were placed in a round form and placed near a fire to dry. Once all the water has evaporated they are packed and ready to ship.

Shipping

The guild has a dedicated group of traders and messengers. They bring orders from customers to the guild and return with the cosmetics. They also deliver contracts for the theatre houses.

Public Agenda

As their motto says "Making Corrigenda beautiful one face at a time." This means they are preparing their product to increase the attractiveness of all who wear it. Joy is also considered beautiful, thus theatre houses which bring joy and happiness to the masses are also beautiful.

Assets

Guildhall

There is a large walled guildhall in Gaullium. This is where the cosmetics are made and the recipes are held in secrecy. All members of the guild live in the guildhall.

Gardens

The guild gardens provide for the needs of the guildmembers and ingredients for the cosmetics. They are maintained within the walls of the guild. There are some garden beds housed in rooms of glass which produce all year long even in the cold of winter.

Trade

Within the stables of the guild there are stalls for twenty-four horses and six wagons. The stalls are full at all times in a rotation. When a messenger comes in with orders he stables is tired horse and another messenger on a fresh one leaves, allowing the horses and messengers time of rest between trips. Wagons are also rotated in a similar way. Once the orders are filled and packed into a wagon it sits ready to be hitched when the next trader comes in for rest.
