Woemongrel

The anatomy of these denizens of Dis are quite simmilar to the common mortal and is often based on the type of mortal the Woemongrel used to be. Essentially, a woemongrel is the soul and dismal body of a mortal wracked by the torment and experiance of the dismal plane to be a twisted and consumed version of their older self. Their skin is often charred and covered with lesions and scarification, sometimes even sprouts of Helbramble burst from the wounds of their flesh. Their joints are often crooked and misaligned, their fingernails either scraped to bloody nubs or elongated to preternatural degrees. One of their most striking features are their faces. Woemongrels are often describes as having the visage of a rotting corpse that has been stretched and malformed by the agony of the dismal plane. While they will often hide their faces under hair or bramble or sometimes even cloth or masks it is said that even catching a glipse of this face is enough to cause severe distress towards the living and may even invite the influcence of the dismal plane.

Woemongrels Hail from the wastes of the Planes of Dis. They are the lowest form of demonic creature and are thus quite meek. Often preyed upon by greater demons and fresher souls, the woemongrel thrashes against any creature it sees but will often cower if outnumbered or clearly outmatched. Woemongrels can make their home in most any crevice or hole and will inhabit the first one they can find. They are often compared to roaches for their ability to squeeze into tight spaces and their tenacity within the dregs they inhabit. They often wander into the mortal plane by accident or strange circumstance involving trans-dimentional magics.
