Basic Information
Anatomy
The overall shape and makeup of the Magma Tortoise is quite simmiar to the Stone Tortoise however to a new extreme. Magma Tortoises have been known to reach over 6 feet in diameter and insances of these creatures tell tales of up to 20 feet in diameter. The only recorded weight of specimen was on the smaller side of the spectrum and weighed a mind bending 5,000 pounds. While most of the magma tortoise is covered in a thick layer of igneous stone, the deepest and fleshiest bits of a Magma Tortoise are incandecent from the impressive heat of its innermost parts.
Growth Rate & Stages
Oftentimes it takes close to a hundred years for a Stone Tortoise to fully grow into a Magma Tortoise, after which they often enter a long uninterruptable slumber. While sleeping, Magma Tortoise are often mistaken for large boulders and can sometimes even result in plants or other creatures nesting on its shell. A slumbering Magma Tortoise is often known to create a dense grove of life around it due to the extra heat it introduces into the environment.
