Prospect
The rank of "Prospect" in The Infernus represents those devils who are on the path to proving their worth within the infernal hierarchy but have not yet secured a position of true authority. Prospects are individuals who have shown potential in strength, cunning, or loyalty, and are under the scrutiny of their superiors, aspiring to rise in the ranks. They serve as foot soldiers and assistants, handling tasks that range from menial to dangerous, with the hope of earning recognition.
Prospects are often assigned to shadow Enforcers or other higher-ranking devils, learning the brutal politics and warfare that govern The Infernus. They are frequently given missions to test their mettle, such as subduing rebellious lower ranks or leading small, hazardous operations that could either elevate them or end in their demise. Prospects must continuously prove their value through demonstrations of strength, obedience, and ruthless efficiency.
While they lack the authority of higher ranks, Prospects are highly motivated by the possibility of advancement, knowing that success could grant them the power and privileges of an Enforcer. However, failure or perceived weakness can doom a Prospect to eternal servitude or worse. The path to promotion is steep, and only the strongest or most cunning survive the trials, making the rank of Prospect both a proving ground and a deadly gamble.
