Holga-Folc / Clann-Dubhcarn
Civilization and Culture
Average Technological Level
Their technology is basic, very basic. Whatever technological level they were at is long gone and forgotten. Generations of isolation, inbreeding, malnutrition, and cultural collapse have pushed their capabilities into a state of extreme regression. They could be compared to late hominin hunter-gatherer groups.
The tools they used are made of stone and bone. Their knapping is very inconsistent and tools do not have standardise shapes. To them as long as it can cut flesh and skin, it is good enough, they will even use bones to turn into clubs or sharp implements. Other materials they use is sinew, hides, strips of skin, while their clothing is made of unprocessed hides, crude, unshaven furs and simple wraps tied with sinew. They are able to create fire and use it such as making fires to cook food, carry torches while in combat they use their bone or stone crude weapons, though they have manage to make small traps, not enough for a human to be seriously hurt. Cooking food is very basic, putting meat over a fire or eating it raw. The technology denied to them includes pottery, weaving, architecture, metalworking and the likes.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
The Holga-Folc or as the Picts have come to call them the Clann-Dubhcarn have contact with the Saxwelder and Brŷchdannaigh and no one else due to the mountain range they call home. These relationships are shaped by fear, misunderstanding, violence, and the Holga-Folc’s desperate struggle for survival.
The Pictish tell stories of youth going missing especially women, mutilated bodies found near the cave entrances, the Shamans claim the Clann-Dubhcarn are cursed, something dark holds them. They also use the Clann-Dubhcarn as stories to scare children, and as a warning to stay away from unknown caves as the Clann-Dubhcarn may be lurking inside of them and will eat them. If one of the Clann-Dubhcarn is seen outside of the cave systems, the Picts assume a raid, abduction attempt and will kill them on sight. The strongest of Pict warriors have learnt to avoid the caves.
For the Saxweld folk, they do not hold any supernatural fear but see the Holga-Folc as a vile degenerate people but know they are dangerous and to be avoided. Like Picts, they do not enter the caves where they are found, they can tell if a cave hosts the Holga-Folc due to the bones scattered around, crude built effigies and an unnatural feel around the area, as if the wildlife itself knows to avoid them. The Saxwelder have built small outposts at the very edges of the territory home to the Holga-Folc and keep watch for raids or abduction attempts yet even their watchful eyes fail at times. The Saxwelder believe the Holga-Folc are people left from an ancient time, though not even the Saxwelder can truly tell of their origins, they have always been there.
