Sacred Moonlight Groves
The Sacred Moonlight Groves where the Cocoa-Coffea Trees grow are in a long-forgotten place where people aren't allowed to go. Hidden in the lush caldera of a long extinct volcano, the secret valley has been all but lost to modern civilization. Its location is known only to a handful of lonely monks in an isolated monastery near Batavia.
Geography
The island rises sharply from a narrow ring of black sand in the Pacific. The long dead volcano's steep sides are rocky and sharp, while the inside of the caldera is fertile, lush, and green-green-green!
Climate
Buildup of tropical humidity in the latitude of the island contributes to the fast formation of rolling clouds as wet air sweeps up the island's steeply sloped sides. This condensations seeps down into the valley as occasional rain but--most often--as dew drawn from the moist air and misty clouds by the Bean Sprite Tredecim.
Fauna & Flora
The valley of the caldera is rich with fertile, black soil perfect for growing a myriad of tropical crops but especially the most desirable of all luxury crops, chocolate (cacao) and coffee (coffea).
The groves are the only known home of the Cocoa-Coffea Tree, a symbiotic pairing of Cocoa and Coffea that refuses to grow outside of the nutrient-rich volcanic soil in the deepest floor of the valley. In addition, countless thousands of other unique species of plants, animals, insects, and fungi can be found inhabiting the valley.
The trees are home to various strata of Sprites. These bioluminescent beings can be seen flying and crawling among the leaves, branches, and roots of the trees. Their presence lends an otherworldly essence to the valley, and folklore among the monks speaks of a forest alive with vengeful, glowing spirits. Of course, the sprites are protective of their home. This is why people are not encouraged to visit.
