Dew Spinner

Each Dew Spinner is responsible for collecting moisture from the clouds and spinning it into a fine mist to be woven into dew and laid upon the the flowers and pods of their Cocoa-Coffea Tree. In addition, the Dew Spinner is responsible for the spiritual health and wellbeing not just of their Bean Sprite Tredecim, but of the entire tree's population, right down to the Root Sprites.

Career

Payment & Reimbursement

Like all members of a Bean Sprite Tredecim, Dew Spinners have ascended past material gain. Dew Spinners are the few among the few who feel more than a desire, but an urge, a calling toward higher service.

Some speculate that the symbiotic nature of the sprites' relationship to their tree results in the tree summoning a receptive sprite from among its Tredecim and sharing its essence directly with the chosen Dew Spinner, rather than through more traditional, physical and material means.

Perception

Social Status

Each tree's Dew Spinner is the defacto spiritual leader of the tree's entire population. In relative terms, if the tree is looked on as a deity, then the Dew Spinner is its prophet.

Dew Spinners rarely interact with those outside of the Tredecim. This is in part due to the workload of collecting dew from the clouds, but also because they seem to have lost interest in almost all manners of society and even the physical world.

This careless distance is perceived differently amongst the various strata of a tree's sprites. While the tree's Root Sprite Colony might consider the Tredecim a circle of gatekeepers around a figurehead Dew Spinner, the Breath Sprites who tend the leaves—and therefore work closer to the Tredecim—tend to look on them as philosophical dreamers, out-of-touch with the rest of the tree.

I am enjoying this project a lot Haly, the sudden chaos of simply spawning this world Chocolatte is simply wonderful and the fact that off the cuff you just coming up with it all and it feels so convincing and cohesive. I may not know exactly how the like societal group your describing works but yet I do not feel entirely without understanding even as you describe but one profession and role amongst many and how some of the others perceive them. Well written :)
