Bean Sprite Tredecim
In the far away Sacred Moonlight Grove, each Cocoa-Coffea Tree is overseen by a Tredecim of Bean Sprites. These ethereal creatures are responsible for the distribution of dew upon the flowers and seed pods of the trees. This proper dew distribution affects much in the way of flavor for both chocolate and coffee.
Conversely, improper distribution interferes with the plants' absorption of moonlight, thus starving them of the natural nighttime nourishment that lends the preferred "dark, velvety smoothness" to the flavors of the beans.
Structure
Bean sprites are organized into tredecims, groups of thirteen. Each tredecim is tasked with the care of a single Cacao-Coffea tree.
Within each tredecim, there is one Dew Spinner who gathers the moisture from the air and coalesces it into strands of dewdrops. The eleven Dew Weavers then spread these strands across the flower petals and seed pods of their tree. Finally, each tredecim is charged with the education of a single apprentice who will--eventually--become part of a tredecim placed in care of a fully rooted sapling.
Apprentices are those who have metamorphosed beyond their material and social needs and are ready to take their first steps into enlightenment and the meeting of their spiritual needs through the oneness of all things.
Culture

Each tredecim works in close tandem with their tree, caring for its needs as it nourishes theirs and ensuring a rich and plentiful harvest. It is common for a tredecim to have its own repertoire of songs, stories, and rituals for gathering, preparing, and spreading fine nets woven of moonlit dew across the silken beds of open petals, and the secret, tight bundles of the seed pods.
Examples:
- Starroot Tredecim all sing only in minor scales to accompany their tree's wistful and longing nature.
- Waterbole Tredecim hold hands as they work, spreading and smoothing their strands with their feet in a ballet-like dance.
- Windwhisper Tredecim hum as they gently blow their strands across the petals and pods, their every breath littering the air with glittering rainbow sparkles of dew.
Public Agenda
The Tredecimi are the sprites who have traversed the path of life in the Sacred Moonlight Grove and, having experienced the fullness of life, now wish to spend their time dedicated to the service of the tree that nourished them and gave them life, even as they for it in return. They recognize the higher, interconnected, cyclic nature of oneness, and are called to the service of the universality.
