Gnome

Origins

The gnomes were created by Quetminook, not out of any malice towards the Goblins, created in his image, but out of curiosity to see if he could do as Athneron had done before him. He wanted to create life, a domain generally associaed with Jakular. But while the Savage God wanted to make life that was capable of surviving great hardship, Quetminook wanted to apply a... more intelligent design. So he created the Gnomes, a people who could compete with the Goblins on an intellectual level. He knew the two groups would compete, and in doing so, push each other to new heights.  

Regions

Gnomes primarily reside in the Great Jungle of Gerule, where they war with the Orcs. They have many cities there, but very few villages. This is due to the fact that their advantages are in their intelligence and their ability to build machines of war. Some, who dislike the patterns of violence that the Gnomes seem trapped in, relocate to the Lindral Forest or the Goldengrass Plains.  

Stereotypes

                                       

Stereotype	Why this Stereotype Exists
Gnomes are preternaturally excellent inventors.	While some gnomes have great skill for inventing and creating mechanical marvels, just as with any race, the abilities of one do not extend to all. Not all gnomes are great inventors.
Gnomes have advanced mechanically better than magically.	Gnome magic is generally within their creations. Their artifice may appear to simply be mechanical work, but more often than not, gnomish work has magical brilliance hidden within.
Gnomes and Hazodee greatly dislike each other.	While the Hazodee do not help the Gnomes, they also do not harm them. By and large, the two races don't dislike each other, they have simply agreed to stay out of each other's ways.
Gnomes hate Goblins.	Their disagreements are best described as professional in nature. Both of them want to outdo the other.
Gnomes' inventions are on par with those coming from Harkinmont.	While gnomish work often builds upon work from Harkinmont, they have often already built upon it themselves by the time the Gnomes get their hands on it. Although, many gnomes do work in the City of 10,000 tomorrows and invent there.
