Taorminian Reach

The Taorminian Reach is the interior highlands of Casiphon, bordered by Lake Belphion and the Chorra Marshes in the North, the Anander River and the borders of Nivelanum in the West, the borders of Proponthryntis in the South, and the area of highlands above Lake Luore in the East.   This area was once the heartland of the Taorminite empire and includes many large towns in the highland valleys, well connected by a network of Taorminite roads through the mountain passes. The areas along the Anander river have recently come under attack by barbarous Perakhuoshi tribes, who have overrun the lowland areas on the eastern side of the river.   The wealth and promise of the Taorminite empire encouraged mortals of all races and backgrounds to travel inland. Most humans, however, are the dour and hardy Taorminites, though those of the northern areas are much less civilised than those of the southern region, and a good portion of the barbarous culture which once existed there still survives in the rural areas.   Major settlements include:
