Taorminites

The Taorminites were an inland people originally settled the Red Hills and Rilin River valley during the Sixth Cycle, who then spread their territory to the sea and further to the North toward Carrado. Their culture was most heavily influenced by the Nivelane dwarves, from whom they adopted a stratified social structure based on clan ties and construction technologies.   Though they were very effective empire-builders through their respect for duty, uncompromising expectations of loyalty and reputation for honesty, Taorminites sometimes come across as overbearing and arrogant. They are perceived as shorter than average, dour to the verge of humourless and businesslike; their society, however, is fairly inclusive towards outsiders who adopt their language and culture.   Real world analogies - Classical Roman   Taorminites spread across Casiphon with their empire, and it is not unusual to find Taorminite families from Priochtheira to the Belphiath to the edge of Eyl-Thoul. Settlements originally founded by Taorminites are:
  • Taormun and Tamarantica, and other settlements around the Red Hills
  • Vadumar
  • The Taorminite colony of Sefton
  • Cathton, Parbelton and Prieth, and the smaller towns in the region
  • Lochenhale and Chorrea, and the smaller towns in the region
