Red Plants
Of the three groups, the Caneran plants with dark red foliage are the most common and widespread, the least interesting, and the most similar to Earth angiosperms. They produce seeds associated with fruits, which generally start out red, and move down the color spectrum to yellow, green, blue or purple as they ripen. Much like on Earth, this means that the fruits become more visible as they ripen, and contribute to a pile of fertilizer for the next generation as it germinates.
