Inquisition
Created by Janeth Brightsong, the institution served as an arm of the church bolstered by the academy's technological breakthroughs. This endeavor was meant to improve relations between the two institutions. However, the organization quickly strayed from its path and became a private paramilitary faction controlled by Janeth Brightsong and fellow religious fanatics who would abuse their power for years.
After a particularly large rift was destroyed in the Dukedom of Arvum, the queen went missing with a detachment of high inquisitors.
After her daughter took the throne, the inquisition had lost most of its influence and power with its missing leadership. It was reorganized as an order of holy knights under the church's perview called The Brotherhood. All former members either disappeared with the queen or in the weeks later during the reorganization.

Disbandment
The organization became zelous, no longer protectors of the public against the dangers of the Shadowspawn. They became brutalistic bullies exorting the general public and abusing their politicla power and immunities. Some member even became fanatics who strayed from the teachings of the church. When Queen Aarda Brightsong came to power she reformed the institution from the ground up and purged those who continue to be threats to the public.
