The Duchy of Lux comprises the Royal Capitol and all surrounding settlements within the Valley of Dread. It is ruled over directly by the Brightsong Royal Family instead of a duke or duchess.
The Duchy of Lux acts as the first line of defense against The Dark Rift and a spiritual center for those in the kingdom. Although it once was a bastion of technological innovation, that role has now been taken over by the Dukedom of Pecunia after the rift between Strixhaven Academy and the Church of Axion.
