Scissor District
The Scissor District, named for the tailors and textile merchants that put up shop there, before the district was created was the fifth expansion of the city, including the building of the citadel.
While the district is primarily a residential district with a diverse set of businesses in it, its most distinctive feature is still The Silk Market. A plaza, with a warehouse in the middle of it, in which many merchants store and trade their textiles, and many tailors and clothing shops all around the plaza.
The decision to build the walls of the district and therefore officially incorporate it into the protective cover of the city, was partly due to pressure by the citizens to protect them and partly it was an effort to produce more tangibly useful results, with the mining wastes from the expansion of Hammerfort.
