Balashmir, Guardian of the Planes
Balashmir (a.k.a. Guardian of the planes)
Balashmir is a mystery in the modern pantheon of the Elemental Gods. The two competing theories on his origins are that he either was created by The Darkness and The Light, together with Arnu, the god of magic, and Ishgala, the goddess of life, or that he has existed long before that, perhaps since the very creation of reality.
With his origin and relation to the other gods being a mystery and with his role as the gatekeeper between the planes largely disputed, the only seemingly consensus scholars have is that he died almost 4000 years ago at the hands of Urdelia , the goddess of war, in an act of protecting the life of her son Phendor, the god of death, who started harnessing the power of the Elemental Being called The Time to create mortality.
This death created the modern structure of the pantheon and ushered in a new calendar, known as OnP, or "Of the new Pantheon".
While some texts speak of his grave being in the plane of Caltora, some scholars have begun to doubt the very existence of said deity, calling it a trick by the god Ismir, the god of trickery, to make his son seem more important or just to start some chaos.
