Dahlia Sin'felle

The Rise

Dahlia is the daughter of a prominent moon elf family, and one of the last registered births of a moon elf. Seeing her race dwindle into non-existence due to low birthrates and massacres of her kind, Dahlia decided to take action. She started studying dark magic, and ended up following and aiding the lich Supay Mamani, a former human from the northern region of the Sletvalian Marches. In return for her servitude, Supay promised to help her in researching and cure the infertility of her race, as well as teach her how to create an army of the dead to defend moon elves.   However, Dahlia soon learned that finding a cure required information on the inner workings of Moon Elves. Appaled at first Dahlia was goated on by Supay, who convinced her that a sacrificing the few for the many was the better of two evils. At first Dahlia found and kidnapped Moon Elves that had commited crimes trying to convince herself that they didn't deserve to live. However, the experiments conducted proved more dangerous than first anticipated meaning she gradually pushed the line of evil, one elf at a time. At this time Dahlia had amicably severed her ties to Supay, who had grown bored by her experiments. Doing the research she realised that she couldn't keep up with both the research and finding speciments, and decided to reach out to a House of Drow that had been known to tracking down and butchering moon elves. This is how she met H'azzir Do'Urden. House Do'Urden had recently been ressurrected to power, mainly due to the House's willingness to get rid of Moon Elves, a battle seen by many as a noble and important ordeal. Therefore the House had received funding from several of the more prominent Houses, and in a century they had managed to get one of the larger forces in the city. Together the two of them kidnapped and killed more moon elves than any other.   Over the centuries of her experiments, Dahlia survived several assassination attempts, but by the time she was outside the protection of Supay Mamani, she had become a very powerful Sorceress herself, and all attempts at her life was a mere annoyance to her. She had grown bored by her own power, and started to lash out at random people wishing to provoke. One day she pushed the right button of H'azzir Do'Urden, who had a knife at her throat before she could even react. Dahlia, who had until then not even given H'azzir an extra glance, now saw him as if for the first time. Soon thereafter, they were lovers.   By the time Dahlia went back to her family, she had changed. She had become cruel, enjoyed torturing, and had abandoned all teachings of Selûne, tought to her throughout her upbringing. Her family had heard rumors of what she'd been doing, and when confronted Dahlia, attempted to explain the noble intentions behind her actions, but by then it was clear that while she had once believed it, she no longer did. Her family shunned her, promising her that if they ever saw her again, they would make sure that they were the last she saw. Furious by her families inability to see that what she'd done was for them, Dahlia with H'azzir at her side sent an army of undead against her family, destroying one of the few moon elf settlements, Ithilost, of Calcuil. After destroying her familie Dahlia took the name of Sin'felle instead of her ancestral name Syn'dalay.  

The Fall

After having destroyed her family and Ithilost. Dahlia, wanted more power. H'azzir seeing her at her full power doing the sack of Ithilost, saw the opportunity for House Do'Urden to gain more power, and convinced Dahlia to go with him to The Underdark, and help him destroy House Tiveneg, the 10th most powerful house of Menzoberranzan. Dahlia agreed.   Together they went to Menzoberranzan where H'azzir presented Dahlia to his mother, Malice Do'Urden, the Matron Mother of House Do'Urden. However, while H'azzir had hoped his mother would accept Dahlia, Malice saw a potential threat to her and her daughters position, and send her away. Dahlia's temper once again flared up, and she cursed the family screaming that they would rue the day they send her away. H'azzir attempted to control Dahlia's temper by redirecting it at House Tiveneg. Without the permission of the Matron Mother, the two alone, with Dahlia's army of undead destroyed House Tiveneg, and took over their keep from which they send an invitation to the rest of Do'Urden to come and bow to the Matron Mother of the newly formed House Sin'felle.   However, while H'azzir Do'Urden was a very skilled fighter, he lacked the brains for Politics, and did not understand what they had done. The other houses of Menzoberranzan would not stand on the line and watch as a Caladhel non-lolthite came into their city and destroyed one of the most powerful houses. Very quickly the other Matron Mothers with House Baenre in the front had gathered their armies. House Do'Urden was destroyed first, for their inability to control a vagrant son, then they came for H'azzir and Dahlia. While they fought a brave fight, and Dahlia's army was able to keep most at bay, they were no match to the magic granted by Lolth to the High Priestess Quenthel Baenre.   H'azzir and Dahlia were captured, where they were tortured by the ilithit Methil El-Viddenvelp. H'azzir was gutted on an alter used as an offering to Lolth, in front of Dahlia, which was the last straw in breaking her psyche. Seeing Dahlia break, Quenthel Baenre, decided to place her as the figurehead of the nearly instinct House Do'Urden. Dahlia being under her firm control, Quenthel became in practise the Matron Mother of two Houses.

All of Dahlia's trauma has made her mad. She speaks with herself, and are unaware of the political games she's part of. She is very unstable and her temper easily flares up if there's too much noise around her or if she is being pressured. Therefore, she is kept in the House Do'Urdon Compound under the watchful eye of Jarlaxle Baenre.
