Lizardfolk

Quiet the oddity among races in brimir. The "Lizardfolk" as we have (begrudgingly) begun calling them, are a recent discovery in the world of Brimir, as such, information regarding them appears to be limited, more worringly is the fact that their own personal history only dates back less than four hundred years with little to no explanation on how they came to being.   Typically found living in dismal swamps on Islands and wasteltands miles from civilization, Lizardfolk possess more in common with Reptiles and Kobolds biologically than they would with warm-blooded humanoids. The Lizardfolk's reptilian nature comes through not only in appearance, but also in how the think and act, their thoughts and desires are driven by a different set of principles than warm-blooded races or even kobolds, Tribes of Lizardfolk act and operate instinctivly in the name of rationality and Utility with little room for emotion, which some believe they lack.   Lizardfolk have been organizaed into one of five groups as seen below:   Komodarian: The largest of the Lizardfolk Sub-Groups, Komodarians believe in a heirarchy based on Strentgh where the strongest lizardfolk reigns as champion and king over all tribes, (of which no other tribe sans the Iguanis seems to follow) this belief is further pushed by their supposed "Divine Right" in which they claim to posses a Draconic ancestry that empowers them, while this should be impossible given their relativly smaller age, blood tests have found their venomous blood containing a connection to a currently unknown black dragon's lineage, which is concerning to say the least.   Frilled-Neck: Eassilly Identified by their much more colorful Scale patterns and their obvious namesake. The Frilled-necks seem much more human-like in demeanour, even approaching and conversing with other humans over other tribes, the frilled-neck lizardfolk lack a strong culture of their own, merely adopting and mimmicing the traditions of those around them, similarly, while they don't understand most human emotions or customs, they do seem interested in learning such. The Frilled Neck they're known for is used as a survival mechanism to indimitate predators, unlike other lizardfolk however, Frilled necks are quite cowardly, visibly so even, and will run on the first sign of danger should intimidation fail.   Iguanis: The most abbundant and wide-spread of the groups, on first glance the Iguanis Lizardfolk don't appear to be anything special, a jack of all trades focused entirely on breeding and spreading further out. With these numbers they have adopted a mentality based around the group over self, Iguanis rarely have names of their own, rather instead they opt to be named after their role in the tribe and a number should they require individuals to be chosen. Nothing is more important than the preservation of their village, including one's own life; Iguanis view their own bodies as mere constructs created in service of the village, what we call death is what they believe to be the shedding of skin into their next state of life, their bodies being planted in the village grounds where their spirits become one with their homeland.   Chameleon: A rather Elusive Tribe, one we know frighteningly little of, what little we do know comes from the Frilled necks assistrance. The Chameleon Tribe are some of the Lizardfolks deadliest predators, their shifting scale patterns allow them to blend into the environment with ease. Chameleons appear to be engrossed with the Idea of supposed "Wild Hunts" a religious rite of passage they go upon in which their exact target is predetermined by elders to be the most dangerous prey in the area, including and especially, other tribes. Chameleon's have unfortunatly adapted to the new world much better than the others have, effortlessly incorporating the modernities of life into their weapons and lifes, much to their prey's dismay as they begin developing technology of their own.   Gataridan: Larger than most of their cousins, the Gararidans are an off bunch, their behavior deviating from almost everything listed before, althourgh the only examples we have seem to have been under the influence of some sort of drug that we believe was the result of fae influence given the mist appearing on the middle finger they reside on, this would also explain their unique architecture that feels reminascent of an older Niflheim, if you ignored the swamps and Horizonback Tortoise homes.
Lifespan
Lizardfolk reach maturity at around 16 and rarely live longer than their 60's
Average Height
The average height for Lizardfolk is 5'6 ft, Gataridian's averaging 6 to 7 feet whereas Komodarians stand over 10 feet tall.
Average Weight
average fully grown Lizardfolk weighs between 200 and 250 pounds, with Gataridians and Komodarians having a much, much wider range, some recorded instances of 500 pounds or more, the record being 1,200 pounds.
