Jotunheim

While the surface of Jotunheim depicts a beautiful if frigid, mountainous region flooded with untamed woodland. The True shared home of both Giants and Dwarves lies beneath the earth inside the mountains. During the Kingdom's inception, Relic took a personal interest in the Giants, descending down against Yggdrasil's orders and secretly instructing and creating the infrastructure that would become the basis for Jotunheim's bunker-esque cavern system. It was through this system and the harsh weather outside that the people of Jotunheim were unaffected by the same incursion their southern neighbors struggled against.   In contrast to its uneasy Enemy Midgard, Jotunheim prides itself on being the technological titan of the world, constantly making progress in the marriage of modern science and metallurgy with complicated systems of magic, blending them into a more streamlined system for the benefit of all. While this has brought a great many boons to the world that even the normally traditionalist Kingdom of Midgard has adopted (to an incredibly limited and government-controlled extent) the rather, haphazard and reckless nature some of their brightest minds have towards creation has created their own problems. Fitting for dwarves they saw fit to solve this issue through more invention, leading to the formation of the Clock Tower, Simultaneously the nation's largest Mages Associations and Guild (in both the Artisanal and Heroic sense) that works tirelessly to maintain peace and peace of mind throughout Jotunheim, placing great emphasis on many aspects of life and how it serves the betterment of mankind. Those whose scientific (or magical) exploits are found to be especially noteworthy will find themselves elevated to a rank known as a Gear of Society.     The Kingdom of Jotunheim is led through the cooperation of multiple parties: The Dwarven King, (currently Alberich Auberon) The Giant King, (Currently King Bergelmir Volsung) and select individuals selected by members of the Gears of Society based on Merit to form the "Clockwork Keepers" a council designed to assist the two kings and help rule over Jotunheim. While uncommon, the Clockwork Keepers can gain or lose either council members or entire positions based on public outcry in regard to who occupies one of the seats of power, leading to a mandate that effectively records and publicizes the council members' entire lives and the deals they make to better keep them in check. Ironically, this mandate has made the clockwork keepers a somewhat undesirable job in spite of the power it brings, leading some to believe it may be gone in the not-so-distant future.
