James Afrika

Paladin

The founder and leader of the Reconstituted Brotherhood of Steel. James Afrika was a chemical engineer who served the US Army prewar and specialized in the long term storage and disposal of nuclear, chemical, and biological agents. He had taken a job with the Vault-Tec corporation and was present from the first day that a shovel broke ground at the Vault 76 site where he served as the primary chemist. His early life is a mystery, he never talks about it. In fact, he rarely talks about anything aside from there whereabouts of his coffee cup or the mission at hand. He is also obsessed with watching video feeds of what is happening out there in Appalachia and can quite often be found basking in the glow of the many CRT monitors found in Hope Bunker. He is distant, but ingenious. He is the reason that the Brotherhood now has an inoculation for the scorched plague and the ability to produce it. It was also he who saw the brilliance behind Elder Maxson's ideas of preservation of technology and explained it to the rest of us in a way that swayed us to the cause. In fact he was the reason we were so laser focused after reclamation day. Even when our minds were beginning to just acknowledge the horrors that had befallen Appalachia, he kept us focused on the task at hand and working towards a better future. The man has earned our respect through his ideas and actions, if Paladin Afrika calls, we answer.
