Divine Siblings

The siblings came to be as the direct descendants of CAELVS PATER, which was part of the group of gods, known as DII MAXIMI (or Old Gods later on) holding the title of Divine Sovereigns of Great Valley. As such, they were intially active in Yama when it was primarily inhabited by the Old Yamaians. Unseparable from the beggining, they found their residence on the top of a lone montain, later known as Shinyama) the western parts of the region, nearby the huge lake. In the proximity of the mountain, there was a small settlement called "LAKVS" in the Old Yamaian langauge. It's inhabitants named the Siblings: AQVARIA (sister) and BELLONO (brother) and started minor cult dedicated to them. It did not became prominent however, partially because the Siblings themselves took very little attention to the mortals.   The primary concern for BELLONO and AQVARIA at that period was to have fun, in many meanings of the word. They've spent a lot of the ime travelling together, chasing one adventure after the other. Their residence was laregely symbolic, as they were eternally absent. Very often, they could also be found spending some time with their father and his allies from DII MAXIMI, which were their friends. The siblings were doing a lot of the favors for them, including eliminating other gods that would be the potential pretenders that would wish claiming the title of Divine Sovereign of Great Valley. The Siblings' fame in that peeriod was more infamous, as potentially dangerous warriors and adventurers, loyal to the DII MAXIMI.   Many years later, when the Siblings were on one of their adventures, a drastic thing happened: another group of gods have risen up against DII MAXIMI and slaughtered them all, including CAELVS PATER, claiming the dominion over the gods of the region for themselves. They became known as the DII FORTES. This event shook both of the siblings to their very core. Their previous carefree and selfish attitude couldn't prevent the loss. They have realized how fragile their situation really was. Struck by grief, they have return to their lone mountain and have summoned all the remaining gods that were close for them to provide proper protection. A new divine realm, independednt of the Divine Sovereigns of Great Valley. The settlement of LAKVS was to be included in their domain as well.   They started the work. A new mountain range was erected by them, cutting off their realm from the rest of the region and providing more defensive measures. DII FORTES, seeing this display of power, have decided to strike a deal with the Siblings, which were clearly holding them in contempt. The agreement was that the area cut off by those new mountain was to be recognized by them as independent divine realm, but neither party should directly visit each other's soil. The relations were to stay cold. During that period, the Siblings stayed mostly isolationist, not caring much about what happens outside of their own realm. The focus was primary on their residence of Shinyama, with mortal settlments getting only small ammount of focus.   During that time, SACRA ANCVRA wrote down stories about Siblings's past adventures in one of the most expansive works using Old Yamaian language.   When Kohakujin arived on the shores in the east, the Siblings had little care. Evenrually the arrival has turned into conquest, which in turn has caused a two new group of gods formed to challenge the [Divine Sovereigns. One was working with the newly arrived Kohakujin, the other was trying to get rid of them. The Siblings stayed neutral during the conflict. However, when the war was approaching its end, a few of the DII ROTES escaped to the Siblings realm, seeking the refuge. They were welcomed with uncaring slaughter, as none of the hosts forgot about the promise they made about not visiting each other's soil.    Eventually, the gods who claimed the alliance with Kohakujin has managed to triumph and became the new Divine Sovereigns, under the name 'Daishugojin'. They had cold, but rather neutral relation with the Siblings and Siblings, had no intention of going against them and the people they protected. The Entirety of the Great Valley became dominated by the Kitsune Folk of the Kohakujin variety, while the native population got mostly enslaved. The settlement of LAKVS wasn't spared, as the Divine Siblings back than had little care about their mortal subjects. It was when Great Valley started being called by its Kitsune name - Yama, "LAKVS" became Kosui, Siblings' residous montain - Shinyama and even Siblings themselves became known under Kitsune name. They were no longer AQVARIA and BELLONO, but rather Mizu and Sakusen.    [work in progress]
