The Rays of the Lord
The Faith of the Holy Light, also known as the Rays of the Lord, is the dominant religion in most human regions of Bellyem. Other minor branches of this religion exist like the Sacred Church of the Warborn Sun in Klaes and in rural areas, specific to local cultures. A minority of believers persists in Tyrinthius, while non-human regions like Leonidas and Nausicaus prohibit its worship.
Genesis
The radiant Sun, the one and only God, reigns supreme over Bellyem and the Reign of the Cieux. It bathes the world in its shimmering rays, infusing hope into the hearts of mortals. Long ago, before the Reign of the Cieux, the Light was but a sacred flow, a primordial force enveloping Bellyem and stretching infinitely across the Cieux. According to the Hymn of the Light, as recounted by Adam, our venerated father, our revered Father, Bellyem Mother earth, enthralled by the dazzling purity of the Light from which the Universe was born, surrendered to it, imploring its blessings to birth children : the Living.
In its envy, the Shadow defiled the secret of Creation and gave rise to the Legion of Vorabyssiem, aiming to destroy God's work. These demonic monsters, charged with their dark mission, are tasked with devouring the living so their poor souls might join the Abyss.
Overwhelmed by the suffering of the living, God entrusted The Spider of the Cosmic Web with the task of laying The Egg of Ascendant Metamorphosis. This Sacred Artifact would summon God into a physical body. His presence on Earth would smite the Vorabyssiems, and the Living would be saved. Through the grace of the Third Eye, accessible to the holder of The Egg of Wonders, a new world would arise, and God would rule an eternal kingdom of youth.
However, the Egg was stolen by the Betrayer Lilith, who obeyed the Shadow. Thus began the quest of Adam and his descendants to recover the Egg that would save the world from darkness.
The Prophecy of Light: Adam's Awakening
In the annals of the Hymn of the Light, it is written that Adam , son of a forgotten human clan, was the first to be touched by the visions of God of Light. The clan, once aimless wanderers, found in these visions a shared purpose, transforming into a brotherhood devoted to deciphering these celestial messages. These truths transcended time, neither past nor future, but fragments of a higher design where God Himself would re-enter the mortal realm.
The clan shaped their lives around these visions, living in seclusion, studying the stars, and murmuring prayers in a language born of dreams. Their sole focus was preparing for the rise of a Chosen One, not merely a prophet but the father of God and the Living, destined to conceive God's Ultimate Vessel. This vessel, embodying the will and power of the Light, would end human imperfection and herald a new world.
Adam, our venerated father was marked from birth by signs no one could ignore. At his first breath, blinding light filled the room, shattering mirrors and extinguishing flames. The elders of the clan knew he was the Chosen One. The fragmented and fleeting visions of the past became clear flashes of divine intent for Adam. The Light spoke directly to him, calling him to a mission beyond mortal comprehension.
But the prophecy carried its burdens, and the visions weighed heavily on Adam. To create God's Ultimate Vessel, he would need to transcend his humanity, offering himself wholly to the Light. The price would be immense suffering and ultimate self-dissolution. Yet, he embraced his destiny, proclaiming himself prophet and guide. The clan, torn between faith and love, prepared Adam for his fate. His prophecy became their cornerstone:
"When the Light chooses, its radiance will devour all shadows. A chosen one will rise, forging the divine vessel through blood and faith. Yet the Light is demanding, and the chosen must embrace eternal surrender."
Thus, Adam stood as the first link in a millennial chain, bearer of the Light. The day would come when Adam, the prophet, would stand alone under the Light’s gaze to fulfill or defy the eternal design. His name would endure not as that of a man but as a fragment of the divine. Practices
Celestial Foundations
The Language of the Cieux is not merely a spiritual practice but a living revelation where the fabric of the firmament becomes a sacred text. Followers believe the sky mirrors divine wills. In every cloud, every ray of sunlight, or every glimmering rainfall lies a secret message woven by the God-Sun. The sky is seen as a sacred, ever-changing book, decipherable only by the Aura Readers. Over six millennia, through Celestial Cycles, the Language of the Cieux was humanity's sole beacon in dark times. Every atmospheric phenomenon bears its own meaning, shaping daily life, decisions, and rituals.
Sacred Phenomena
sThe Clouds, suspended between the terrestrial and celestial realms, symbolize the cycle of life: wispy cirrus for promises, heavy cumulonimbus for divine wrath. Their forms, densities, and altitudes convey varied messages.
sLightning and Thunderstorms, striking with divine ferocity, signify direct intervention by spirits, a warning or a blessing. Lightning embodies God’s energy, while thunderstorms are purification periods for meditation or repentance.
sThe Rainbow, fragile and fleeting, bridges the earthly and the heavenly, symbolizing reconciliation or divine favor. Rare and ephemeral, it signifies forgiveness, a divine promise, or reconciliation with nature.
sMist and Morning Fog, enveloping and enigmatic, represent the passage between material and spiritual realms—a propitious time for meditation or communion with spirits.
Practices and Rituals
sMorning Sky Observation: Devotees observe the dawn sky, seeking omens in the nascent light to guide their day.
sOfferings to Peors: A practice dating back to the Nocturne Skies , believers fast all day and gather at night to share a communal meal under God's protective embrace.
sRainbow Celebrations: Upon sighting a rainbow, joyous ceremonies are held, with songs, dances, and colorful offerings to honor this rare blessing.

The Chosen
They are those whom God has honored by sharing the destiny of the living. Touched by the Divine Transcendence, their bodies are imbued with Grace, and their minds are granted visions of the Divine Plans in the quest for The Egg of Wonders of Wonders. The ancestors of Adam, our revered Father, were led by the Lord before him to guide him in his task. Adam, in turn, was honored with Visions of Light, and so too are his descendants. Throughout history, many have been Transcended by the Light, bringing forth the Evangelical Words.
The Pope of Eternal Light, Guide of the Divine Rays
The Pope of Eternal Light is not merely a religious leader but the mortal embodiment of the will of the God of Light. Chosen during the Rite of Illumination, they are believed to receive the direct blessing of the Divine Rays, a mystical phenomenon where a radiant light pierces the heavens to embrace the future spiritual sovereign. This sacred moment is seen as proof that the Pope's soul has been purified and aligned with the solar essence.
The Role of the Interpreters of the Sky
Every new millennium, marked by the Vault of the Celestial Realm, ushers in a new Reign of the Cieux. The interpreters, known as Aura Readers, spend years studying the various forms and signs of the sky and meditating to discern their profound meanings. They are consulted for significant events such as harvests, births, marriages, and times of crisis. Their duty is to read the Sky and find clues about the location of The Egg of Wonder. Every phenomenon is carefully studied and recorded.
The priests establish a calendar based on the Vault of the Celestial Realm, the cycles of clouds, and the rainy seasons, marking auspicious days for weddings and baptisms. The Aura Readers are the guardians of this religion. Trained for decades, they possess knowledge of the stars, the winds, and the colors of the sky. They interpret phenomena to guide harvests, bless unions, or warn of calamities.
Sacred Texts and Symbolism
The first sacred texts were written by Adam’s hand during his pilgrimage among the tribes of Bellyem. He took as wives women from each clan that welcomed him, these women, known as the The Eva, bore the divine revelations inscribed on their very skin. He did the same with his eldest sons. Only the descendants of Adam our venerated Father possessed the privilege of having their skin engraved to reveal the quest for the Egg of Wonders.
For generations, this practice was carried on between parents and children. Today, in the regions of Chrystemis and Tyrinthius, it takes the form of tattoos among noble families. In Klaes, however, the practice endures as it originally was. The writings were collected on paper and compiled into a volume: The Hymn of the Light.
The Rays of the Lord is a fascinating organization, brimming with depth and complexity. The way their faith intertwines with their actions gives them a powerful presence in the world, making them feel both inspiring and unsettling. It’s the perfect mix of intrigue and intensity!
