Bellyem
Origins
The myths of Bellyem’s birth diverge like shattered mirrors, each fragment reflecting a truth both terrible and incomplete. The world, it is said, arose long before the Fleeting Times, in an age when the day was unbroken and time an indiscernible haze.
In those days, the Light, a cosmic fluid, enveloped creation in its radiant embrace, holding the world within its shining heart. The doctrine of the Faith of the Holy Light narrates the invasion of the shadow into the kingdom of the Living, annihilating everything in its path, going so far as to defile the sacred rays of light. And so Death arises. The prelude to a tormented struggle between Shadow and Light, a confrontation that still punctuates the course of time itself.
Mother and Daughter
The Reign of the Cieux
Jealous of the Light’s radiance, the Shadow birthed a legion of demons, the Vorabyssiem, to extinguish the Living and spread Death across the world. As the Shadow and its infernal host consumed the land, devouring all in their path, the Light gathered its remaining strength, forging its essence into a burning Sun. This divine manifestation drove the Vorabyssiem into the abyss, but not without cost. The heavens were scarred in the battle, marked eternally with the Vaults of the Celestial Realm , fractures that bleed starlight into the night.
Once every millennium, the skies shift in hue, a grim reminder to the Living : the Vorabyssiem will return, summoned by the Shadow to complete their dreadful purpose. The world watches the changing heavens in silent dread, knowing that when the scars bleed anew, the balance may be shattered forever.
Chrystemis
The Empire of Chrystemis is the largest that has ever existed. Stretching from the southern desert of Ynopherys to the Valley of the Children in Erzlygion, it unites seven families descended from Adam under the banner of a shared faith. The Sympruosian coast is bathed in sunshine, where lavender fields rub shoulders with golden beaches and bustling port towns thrive. To the south, the scorching red-sand Ynopherys desert is home to a miriad of nomadic peoples. To the east, the majestic Bersekion Ridges mark the border with the lands beyond. In its centre, the Empire abounds in fertile, lush plains, where vineyards dot the bucolic hills. In the north, in Mosyne and Vielasyn, dense forests and towering mountains hide the remains of ancient croaynces. Everywhere, Chrystemis is known as a powerful empire, yet in its decline, it is moving closer to its downfall every day.
Klaes
Klaes is a Sororal Triarchy linked by the promise of three sisters to the north-east of Bellyem. The rocky terrain is organised into several altitude levels and is difficult to negotiate without the help of a local. Snow can fall in winter as well as summer, covering the cold ground with an immaculate carpet and frosting the wild grasses. Only red flowers, typical of the region, remain distinct in this white velvet landscape. Streams join together to form mirror-like lakes. The Klaes people, proud and robust, live in fortresses of stone and wood, where hospitality is a sacred duty. Their existence is a constant struggle against implacable nature, but also against more insidious enemies. The sky, rarely clear, seems to watch over this desolate kingdom, where winter never completely dissipates.
Tyrinthius
Tyrinthius is a land torn apart, still bearing the marks of colonisation and resistance. It begins where thick jungles rise up and hide winding rivers at its heart, once revered by exterminated peoples. Its landscape hides crumbling stone ruins that were pillaged and are now engulfed in wild vegetation. There have been many clashes between humans and Chayatiem, leaving in their wake battlefield cemeteries where the dead of both sides lie. Today, the land is divided into four states with their own laws, and despite a cohabitation where humans and Chayatiem share equal rights, peace remains frail and fragile. Tyrinthius tells a heavy story of colonisation and the war for freedom. Although it proves that humans and Chayatiem can live in harmony, certain parties have every interest in sowing discord, driven by their thirst for power and domination.
Nausicaus
Nausicaus, whose wild beauty remains untouched, stretches across immense plains of golden grass. Guarded by imposing coastal cliffs that stand like loyal sentinels, they form a natural frontier between the world of the Chayatiem and the human world. Beyond the tall green grasses, the immense redwoods fascinate with their splendour and majesty. At the top of their branches are the open-air palaces of the Nausilythes. These are a race of varied anthropomorphic birds in perpetual search of freedom. Once masters of the vaults beyond Bellyem, they now fiercely defend their homeland, wary of outsiders. Among them dwell Chayatiem escapees, former slaves who have found refuge in the shadows of Nausicaus’s cliffs and trees. Though tensions simmer between the proud Nausilythe and these desperate newcomers, both share the unyielding spirit of a land that has defied invaders and endured the test of time.
Leonidas
Leonidas, the unforgiving lands on the edge of the Aenigma ocean are steeped in majesty and ferocity. The burning savannah, like a sea of golden grass, reigns supreme over the lands of Leonidas. In the steppes, rivers cut through the crimson earth, providing precious watering holes. This wild domain is ruled by the Leoharix, an anthropomorphic race of feline warriors whose eyes burn with predatory cunning. The lands of the burning roar, the fateful home of the exiles, marks the end of Leonidas. Beyond are still active volcanoes that are feared by the Leoharix, who believe them to be endowed with a murderous will.
Hiatus
In the far north of Bellyem lies the imposing forest of Hiatus. Grim and inviolate,
its lands are out of reach, proudly guarded by still-smouldering volcanoes.
But its animosity goes far beyond that ; Hiatus possesses undisputed power and
a hostile hold on body and mind. The old shepherds of Nyovylum tell stories
about this from their great grandfathers. The forest is shrouded in fiendish terror,
its vice twisting in the minds of those who dare get too close.
Physical and psychological symptoms such as deafness, loss of sight,
vomiting, incessant headaches appeared and could even worsen to the point
of sterility, internal haemorrhaging and fits of dementia where the patient
never returned to his original state. It was all these ailments that drove the
inhabitants of Deserted Tundra into exile, reporting that the noxious aura
of Hiatus harassed them day and night to an unbearable degree.
No one was able to penetrate the forest, or at least no one came out alive.

Beyond the lands
Beyond Bellyem, where the land ends, lies a field of mist where nothingness reigns supreme. The sickly white ground is immaculate and barren, covered in a moist, viscous substance. Beneath its surface, the few explorers report seeing faint veins. But what worries them is the strange fluid these veins contain, pulsing to the rhythm of a muffled beat. In this place, it is not the threat of creatures that causes anxiety, but absolute nothingness. No being lives here. And yet in this desolate land, despite the total emptiness, you can feel a strange gaze upon you.
Bellyem feels like a world brimming with life and mystery. The balance between its rich history and the ever-present sense of danger makes it a setting that draws you in and keeps you intrigued. It’s the perfect backdrop for endless adventures and stories! I'm absolutely enchanted with this world!
thank you for your enthusiasm !
