Chrystemis

The Empire of Chrystemis stretches north from Vielasyn, with the mountains of Vale of the Children marking a natural border between Erzlygion and Klaes. To the south, the Laiuphos Cliff of Phasyneum and the Ynopherys Desert mark the Empire's border with Tyrinthius, where the rainforests begin.

Histoiry

Chrystemis, born under the reign of the Nocturne Skies, stands as a unified empire, forged in the shadow of a tormented history. Before the advent of unity, the kingdoms of Oeviom, Sympruosia, Ynopherys, Erzlygion, Vielasyn, Phasyneum and Mosyne were torn apart in an endless war, a feud lasting more than five millennia. They obey today to the Imperial Dynasty of the Eliavitis from Oeviom.   These kingdoms were the heirs of the ancient tribes that Adam our venerated Father had left behind in his sacred quest for the Egg of Wonders. Each of Adam's descendants, scattered across the farthest reaches of Chrystemis, built a throne on blood and pride, claiming to be the bearer of the purest lineage. Time transformed these tribes into rival powers, each royal family asserting its divine legitimacy and vying for the honour of completing the sacred quest. Finding the Egg meant restoring God's grace and inscribing one's name at the top of celestial memories. And so the war of the lineages became the war of the humans themselves, until the Nocturne Skies imposed a Chosen One, Peors who broke the chains of chaos.

Wars

Peors, the last son of a line related to the illustrious Eliavitis of Oeviom, was chosen by God for a transcendent mission during the reign of the Nocturne Skies. Placed at an early age within the Church of Light, he began his apprenticeship as an Aura Reader, a sacred role that enabled him to decipher the divine traces displayed in the Sky.   It was during a night of prayer under the gaze of the Night Sun that Peors experienced Divine Transcendence. God, in his immeasurable light, revealed to him a forgotten truth: Adam's descendants had gone astray, their pride having led them astray from the sacred quest. It was time to restore unity and faith by bringing the scattered tribes together under a single banner. Invested with this heavenly vision, Peors became a messenger of divine will.   Travelling through the torn kingdoms, he stepped in between the conflicts, calling for reconciliation. He appeared before the great royal families to pass on the word of God. Some inclined their ears and accepted his wisdom, while others, blinded by their own ambition, rejected him with violence. But Peors, the bearer of divine grace, persisted in his mission, sowing the first seeds of the empire of Chrystemis.

Religion

Peors, enlightened by the Transcendence, prophesied a grandiose event: a celestial storm would tear through the darkness of skies, a divine irrevocable transformation. From this storm would emerge a canopy of light, a firmament that he named The Hair of Deus, in homage to the luminous threads that would adorn the heavens like a divine crown.   He declared that the tribes of Adam, long scattered and at war, would at last find unity. The torn bloodlines would bow and come together in a single, brotherly empire, a divine promise of peace and renewed faith. Peors described this vision as the ultimate proof of God's mercy, a call to transcend rivalries and embrace a common destiny blessed by eternal light.

Ressources

The lands of Chrystemis, vast and contrasting, bear witness to the unlikely union between the decline of ancient kingdoms and the riches of earthly gifts. Oeviom, at the heart of the empire, is a fertile granary, where golden fields of grain and vineyards thrive in temperate light. Erzlygion, with its majestic forests, is a haven for precious woods and mines, nurturing craftsmen and smiths.   The Ynopherys desert, to the south, imposes its austere presence with endless dunes and scorching winds. Yet its depths hide treasures: gold, copper and the legendary red salt crystals. Its rare oases are jewels, offering dates and fragrant herbs to those who dare to defy the aridity. Vielasyn, in the north, is home to petrified forests and rich soils where wild berries and nordic plants grow.   The Sympruosia coastline, bathed by the salty waters of Aenigma, provides a wealth of seafood: dazzling fish, rare shellfish and black pearls. Phasyneum prosper thanks to their olive groves and their production of exquisite oils. In this empire, each state contributes a piece to the jigsaw puzzle of survival, an offering to the omnipresent light that watches over Chrystemis.

Slavery

The rise of Chrystemis is based on a dark legacy, deeply rooted in the very foundations of the empire. The Chayatiem, an ancient antropomorph people with mysterious traditions, were enslaved long before the unification of the Seven Kingdoms. Once inhabitants of all the lands of Bellyem, the Chayatiem were accused of defying divine will by refusing to acknowledge Adam's transcendence. Their fate was thus sealed under the pretext of celestial punishment.   Exploited for their robustness and unrivalled knowledge of nature, they were forced to build the infrastructures of Chrystemis, dig the bowels of the Nuinerim Mountains to extract their mineral wealth, and serve in the opulent mansions of the imperial elite. Their trade became the cornerstone of the economy, fuelling a prosperity that extended far beyond the empire's borders.   But this practice was also tainted by a spiritual paradox: the Church of Light justified enslavement as an act of purification, a path to redemption for a people deemed impious. Yet the Chayatiem, even in chains, retained their mysterious wisdom and sang hymns in a lost language, defying the very idea of absolute submission. Their labour, though exploited, took the power of Chrystemis to new heights, but the guilt of the centuries continues to weigh heavily on the imperial memory.

Population

Chrystemis is a land of incomparable human wealth, where peoples with varied traditions and appearances live together in a unity imposed by the Empire and sanctified by the Church of the Holy Light. The descendants of Adam's tribes, mixed with the conquered cultures, have forged a patchwork of diversity, reflecting both the opulence of the feudal courts and the austerity of the desert lands.
In the north, the inhabitants of Vielasyn, with their robust features and pale skins, are renowned for their resilience in the cold and their unwavering devotion to the Church. In contrast, Ynopherysien is marked by dark-skinned communities forged by the desert and sandstorms, guardians of an ancient knowledge of survival and harmony with the dunes. Phasyneumien, in the fertile cost of the Empire, are home to a mixed population, the result of centuries of trade, invasions and alliances.   Among them, the Chayatiem, enslaved peoples, bear the burden of the Empire's work. Reduced to slavery to maintain the splendour of the kingdoms of Chrystemis, they embody the dark glory of the Empire, a cruel contrast to the ideal advocated by the Holy Light. The Nausiltythe are a rare population in Chystemis, the vast majority having fled following Nausicaa. Today they have had their upper limbs amputated, and therefore their wings, to prevent them from fleeing. Depending on the beauty of their plumage, their wings can be sold at extremely high prices as wall ornaments. In this way, Chrystemis is a mirror of humanity itself: united and divided, brilliant and corrupt, bearing the promise of greatness and the curse of oppression.

In the heart of the lands of Bellyem lies a mother ocean, Aenigma, with which the Living have a strong and precious bond. However, at the very edge of the worlds, lies an expanse shrouded in eternal mist, a place where no soul dares to wander...

Dynasty

The Imperial Dynasty of the Eliavitis, born of a lesser branch of Adam’s clans, traces its lineage to a younger son of the patriarch himself and his Eva, Ruys. Rising from obscurity, the Eliavitis ascended through the prophetic blessings of Peors, whose revelations and divine favor propelled them to prominence.   Their ascent culminated in the overthrow of the once-mighty Solmiriath, extinguishing the ancient line that had ruled over Oeviom for centuries. The blood of the Solmiriath endures within the Eliavitis line, as the Evas of the Solmiriath were spared the blade, bound instead into alliances through marriage. These unions wove the legacy of the fallen house into the veins of their conquerors, cementing the Eliavitis' dominion over the Oeviom's throne, a dynasty rooted in usurpation and sanctified by lineage. Whispers of Solmiriath’s forgotten glories linger in the shadows of Oeviom’s courts, a reminder that victory is never without its ghosts.

Military Force

The military forces of Chrystemis, known as the Legion of Solar Blades, operate under the absolute authority of the Church of the Holy Light. These armies, feared and revered across the continent, are not simply machines of war: they are seen as the embodiment of divine zeal, guided by the celestial will. Each soldier swears a sacred oath not only to the emperor, but also to the light itself, making them crusaders as well as warriors.   At the heart of the legions are the Defenders of Eternal Light, an elite group of fighters selected for their unshakeable faith and mastery of blessed weapons. Their blades, forged from the divine metal extracted from the mines of Bersekion, shine with a mystical glow believed to purify impure souls.   Every campaign waged by the Legions was preceded by a blessing from the Church, and their victories were celebrated as miracles. However, this force is also marked by darkness: the enslaved Chayatiem, deployed as cannon fodder or forced labourers, are a silent testimony to the heavy price paid to maintain imperial power. An ancient practice of warfare dating back to the Scarlet Heavens from Mosyne still persists. The subjugated Nausilythes are forced to take to the skies to spread wildfire across the battlefields, risking their own ignition. In addition, the Behemuthar are used in the front line to break up enemy formations thanks to their enormous strength and imposing build. The glory of the armies of Chrystemis, while dazzling, conceals the cracks in an empire devoured by its own weight.
