The titles and hierarchy of MystDale are as follows:
The main leader is the king, currently, it is King Oscar IV
The Council is the King's royal court, and it has eight main divisions:
- General of Defense
- Treasurer
- General of Religion
- General of Food & Agriculture
- General of Population
- General of Guards
- The Advisor
- General of Architecture
Culture
The culture of MystDale is not very diverse, with most people having a single idea, and the motto of the country; Honor Valet. Translated to English, this phrase means Honor is Worth. Most people of MystDale would do anything to uphold their reputation, including sabotaging others. On the outside, MystDale is a gleaming beacon of respect and honor, but on the inside, almost everyone is self-absorbed and greedy.
Interestingly, the people of MystDale dislike magic due to religious reasons and frown upon it heavily. Almost nobody practices magic, and anyone who does is scrutinized heavily by the public.
Public Agenda
The current agenda of the nation's leader, King Oscar IV, is to build the economy of the nation and start expanding into the Gravelly Alps.
The Public is currently focused on improving crime rates, but so far, the only council member willing to help is the General of Population.
Assets
The nation of MystDale has a large accumulation of gold, translating to roughly three trillion dollars in today's money. The nation of MystDale also has one of Beland's largest militaries, accounting for three hundred thousand troops, twenty thousand ships, and countless weapons.
There are 2 main castles in MystDale: The King's castle, Fort Oscar, and the military base, MystDale keep.
Technology-wise, MystDale is one of the only nations to have simple fire-arms, and any other nations that have them are most likely imported from Mystdale.
History
The nation was founded in 25121, by Charles Jackson II. It initially started as a poor but sprawling village, and now is one of the largest nations in Beland.
Demography and Population
Most of the population in MystDale resides along the southern coast, next to the Glimmering Sea. They are densely clumped together in major cities, and there's barely a spot along the coast that isn't inhabited. There are also a few smaller islands off the coast, which MystDale is fighting with Stabaki over. There are a few people along the Gravelly Alps but in smaller mining villages.
Territories
MystDale occupies all of the lands south of the Gravelly Alps, extending around most of the coastline of the Glimmering Sea. There are also a few small disputed islands, but MystDale is mostly a fairly large country.
Technological Level
MystDale is relatively technologically advanced, being the only nation to have access to firearms. It has normal inventions as well - Horses and carriages, Pipes, Drawbridges, and many more.
Religion
The main religion of MystDale is Dianism, and it is mainly because of this that the people of MystDale do not practice magic, as it is forbidden in the religion. Although MystDale claims freedom of religion, most people who practice a different religion are prosecuted, but instead for "Suspicious activity." There are several large churches for Dianism, with the main religious leader being the General of Religion, also known as Emilio Grande. Many people believe that his word is true and that he has direct contact with Di. Most people who have another religion practice it in secret, so that they don't get prosecuted.
Foreign Relations
MystDale is respected by other nations, except for Stabaki, which is currently at war with MystDale.
Agriculture & Industry
One of the main industries of MystDale is tourism and gunpowder. MystDale is well known for its remarkable views of the Glimmering Sea, and its amazing mountain views from the Gravelly Alps. Roughly 35% of the population are not from MystDale and are staying there for only a few days or weeks. There are several vacation resorts along the coast, and sometimes in the Gravelly Alps.
For Gunpowder, the Gravelly Alps are known for having lots of different powders and stones which are valuable, including marble, gunpowder, granite, and even ancient fossils. MystDale focuses mainly on gunpowder, which was incredibly vital in their technological innovation of firearms. They are also very important for explosives, which makes MystDale so militarily powerful.
Trade & Transport
Most of the imports and exports of Mystdale are transported in one of three ways:
- The South Pass in the Gravelly Alps, a large canyon that cuts directly through the mountain to the forests of Denvar. It is roughly two hundred feet across and is wide enough to transport entire caravans through. Unfortunately, it is often ambushed, especially by bandits on the cliff, who shoot arrows and firearms down at the merchants. It is for this reason that MystDale caravans almost always have steel roofing.
- The Glimmering Sea, a large ocean that wraps around the southern side of Beland, and extends into the eastern side. The ships that cross the sea are often gentle-sloping ships, which glide gracefully through the water. They do not require very much protection because storms rarely come over the Glimmering Sea, and because of such little fog and cover, pirates have trouble looting ships on the Glimmering Sea. However, sailors on the Glimmering Sea must have a strong will, due to the Sirens that reside in the sea, and attempt to lure sailors in to kill them.
- The Underground Tunnels, a system of tunnels that runs all throughout Beland, and it is a common system for travelers and merchants to transport goods and smuggle people. Most people who use the Underground Tunnels are black marketers, and while you'd think it would be easier to capture them if they were in tunnels, there are so many twists and turns that it takes years of experience to navigate the tunnels. Traveling through the tunnels is dangerous, and at best, slightly less efficient than the South Pass.
Education
MystDale is a highly educated nation, with seventy percent of the population having a college, and ninety-seven percent of the population graduating high school. Those who do not pass high school are often labeled as mentally disturbed and are disregarded in society. Education is a priority in the nation, and all citizens have access to education. Colleges are also free to citizens if they display a sufficient level of intelligence.
Infrastructure
In MystDale, all citizens have access to the following:
- Aqueducts - MystDale has a large aqueduct system, sprawling underneath cities and settlements. More commonly known as "Sea Tunnels", the aqueducts are made mostly of filtered water from the Glimmering Sea, which is used in the cities.
- Sewage - MystDale has a sprawling sewage system, all emptying into the Tsarr Pit. All citizens have access to the sewage system, and all homes are connected to it (except for those off the grid.)
- Transportation - There are many roads going all across Mystdale, connecting everything across the country, making transportation incredibly simple for travelers, merchants, and commoners. There are bridges across the water, tunnels through hills, and lengthy roads across the country.
Mythology & Lore
Di had three sons: Kio, Hol, and Sewf. Kio, the eldest son, married a young human princess. Hol, the middle child, quickly grew jealous of Kio. By manipulating young Sewf, he convinced him to murder Kio's wife in her sleep, or else be banished from the family. Sewf, having no other choice, killed Kio's wife. The next day, Kio awake in a fit of rage and demanded to know the culprit. Hol told him that it was Sewf, and Kio skewered him with his spear. Di, learning that his sons were killing each other, banished them all to the far realm, where they still are to this day, learning their lessons. Di believes that it was magic that caused Hol to get jealous of Kio, and banished it from his realm. Legend has it that Sewf's body is somewhere on Beland, and whoever brings it back to Di will be rewarded greatly.
Divine Origins
Dianism was Charles Jackson II's religion, and he preached it to the early settlers, and it has since stuck.
Cosmological Views
The universe was created by Di, who believed that humanity needed a chance to atone for his sons sins.
Tenets of Faith
- No Magic.
- Murder is forbidden, but especially familial murder.
- Never betray anyone.
- Do not let jealousy overtake you.
- If you are found guilty of sin, you will suffer a thousand lifetimes of punishment.
Ethics
The ethics of Dianism are almost the same as the tenets of faith, with a few slight modifications.
- No Magic, and anyone who practices it is a sinner.
- You may not harm anyone, ESPECIALLY in your family.
- You may not lie.
- You may not be jealous.
- If you are found guilty of sin, you will never be forgiven.
Priesthood
The priest of the religion is the General of Religion, Emilio Grande. He was appointed to his position by the king, where beforehand he served in Heaxton Bay as a priest. He claims contact with Di himself, and anyone who disagrees with his word is prosecuted.
Granted Divine Powers
It is not clear what the followers of this religion get, but it is said that the priest has "Divine Awareness." While it is not known exactly what this means, it is said that he has the ability to tell if you're lying.

Gazetteer
MystDale controls everywhere south of the Gravelly Alps, down to the Glimmering Sea. (Almost the entire southern border of Beland.)
Currency
The wealthy of MystDale normally transact in Gold Coins, while the poor exchange Notes. Each Gold Coin is worth 1000 Notes. Notes can be created anytime, anywhere, by inscribing on a piece of parchment handed to you by your employer your name and the recipient's name.
Major Exports
MystDale is a major exporter of the following products:
- Gunpowder. This is due in large part to the Gravelly Alps, which are rich in gunpowder. This also contributed largely to the development of firearms, which helped them be one of the most militarily advanced nations in Beland.
- Fish. Due to MystDales access to the Glimmering Sea, with it's calm water's and rich fauna, MystDale gets a large amount of gold and notes from the fishing industry, and exports it to the other countries, where it is a delicacy.
Major Imports
MystDale imports most crops, steel, and wood from other countries. While MystDale is beautiful, it, unfortunately, has few trees, and access to iron. Most of the land is taken up by cities, so it does not produce a lot of food either. It does have a rich fishing industry, but imports most fruits, vegetables, grains, and meats from other countries.
Legislative Body
The King must approve of all laws, and he is free to create laws at any time. However, The Council standardly creates laws, and then the king approves them. Laws are passed by a vote- If over half of the Council votes in favor of the law, it is passed. If less than half of the council approves, it does not pass. If it is split evenly, they will randomly select nine citizens to break the tie.
Judicial Body
There are individual judges for each settlement in MystDale, but the most important cases are brought before the king.
Executive Body
There are several hundred guards deployed throughout the nation, and they enforce the laws.
