Kiamaco (Kee-Uh-Mahk-O)

Structure

The titles and hierarchy of Kiamaco are as follows: The main leader is the Emperor- Currently, it is Tau Abara. The advisors of the Emperor are called the Gathering, with four main divisions:
  • The Wise One
  • The Caring One
  • The Intelligent One
  • The Strong One
Below the Gathering, there are a few captains of the Tough Ones.

Culture

The culture of Kiamaco is extremely diverse, with different races, religions, backgrounds, and professions all throughout the society, A band of misfits, Kiamaco is a refuge for those who have nowhere else, and who don't fit. Because of this, the people of Kiamaco fall into one of two categories: Extremely welcoming to diversity, and believing that everyone is equal- Or people who have turned bitter because of how they were treated, and distrust others.

Public Agenda

The Emperor's current Public Agenda is to improve infrastructure and get water to the people who need it.

Assets

Kiamaco is a very poor nation, with very little military. However, the Emperor is a master negotiator and through this, has formed an alliance with every nation in Beland.

Demography and Population

Most of the population, instead of being clustered around the shoreline like usual, is instead gathered near the eastern border, next to the Ivory Fields, mostly in the cities of Eastern Oros and Saint Kic (Keech).

Territories

Kiamaco occupies the Plateau of Sands, from the Gravelly Alps to the Golden Spire, all along the coast of the Dread Tides. Kiamaco was forced into this land because of neighboring countries, and because of this, got one of the worst territories to occupy in Beland. However, Kiamaco has managed to turn this desolate waste into a home for the abandoned.

Military

The military of Kiamaco is relatively weak, with just under a hundred troops in total. They are also poorly trained, with little to no expertise in combat. However, they have one of the best technologies out of all of the nations, with them being willing to trade precious metals and gemstones for knowledge. After all, the slogan Scientia Sit Potentia translates to "Knowledge is Power."

Technological Level

Kiamaco is one of the most technologically advanced nations- Kiamaco has traded information with other nations in exchange for precious metals and gemstones and is even on the brink of inventing firearms to catch up with MystDale. They even have their own form of steam power-  Carbon Titanioxide. A unique blend created from the metals of the Golden Spire turned into liquid form and used as a sort of hydraulic. They use it to create water pumping systems, coolers, and even develop experimental steam trains.

Religion

Everyone in Kiamaco is free to practice their own religion, with no political discrimination against anyone with a different religion. Because of this, Kiamaco ends up being a large mish-mash of different cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, and religions. Kiamaco has the most diverse culture in Beland because of this. There are several churches established, especially in larger cities such as Eastern Oros and Saint Kic.

Foreign Relations

Kiamaco is allied with every nation, and prosperity reigns throughout the nation. Because they are allied with every nation, they have formed close bonds and friendships with many other cultures and people- which only contributes further to the bowl of cultures that is Kiamaco.

Agriculture & Industry

Kiamaco has little to no access to food- The dry deserts and stormy sea lend themselves to this, as well as the mountainous terrain on both sides of them. However, they manage to thrive off of gold and gemstones. The Golden Spire and Jackson's Volcano are both rich in metal, and Golden Spire is especially abundant in gemstones. The most skilled miners head into these dangerous locations and gain small fortunes in the process. They also specialize in a special type of hunting- Wyverns. Wyvern meat is one of the most expensive foods on the market, and the residents of Kiamaco have become skilled in their hunting of them.

Trade & Transport

Goods are normally transported by camel and Cabela across the Plateau of Sands- there is a low risk of bandits, but a very high risk of natural danger. This is due to the fact that bandits would simply overheat while waiting for prey, while animals have adapted to the heat and even thrive in it. Therefore, natural animals such as sandworms are the largest threat to these caravans. However, due to Kiamaco's superior technology, they are normally able to keep them at bay.

Education

Kiamaco puts education as a priority. Home to the largest library is Beland, with hundreds of universities in every major imaginable, and with no racism between students, Kiamaco is one of the easiest places to get an education. All college is free, and standard school is required. Unfortunately, however, most students drop out of college to support their families, due to poor access to wealth.

Infrastructure

Kiamaco has poor water infrastructure, road networks, and bridges, due to how hard it is to go out into the desert to repair and maintain utilities. Because of this, most people are forced to live in large cities where the water system is better maintained, or risk dehydration in the desert. There are few roads going throughout the nation, curving only to hit the few large cities of Kiamaco, such as Eastern Oros or Kic.

Major Exports
Kiamaco is one of the leading exporters of precious metals and gemstones, which are highly valued by the wealthy and noble alike. Kiamaco is also known for its wyvern meat trading- a delicacy that has been described as "Tough but juicy." Wyvern meat goes for an astounding three thousand macos per pound- Wyvern hunters have dozens of casualties every year, but with that comes astounding profit.
Major Imports
Kiamaco's main import is food. Because of its large & growing population, and low access to agriculture and wildlife, it imports several thousand tons of food per year. Kiamaco has become even more diverse because of this- all of the foods imported from different nations, and all of the races interpretations of the food lend everything into a blur of Kiamacan cuisine.  Another export of Kiamaco is wood, because of the sparse trees and low access to forestry. However, wood is an expensive import, and most homes and houses are built of stone, metal, or cloth.
