Federal Republic of Aresia
The Federal Republic of Aresia (FRoA/FRA) is a country founded on Mars during the Aresian War of Independence. Founded on December 11th, 2298, after a change in the constitution of the previous Republic of Aresia, the Federal Republic of Aresia would continue its path of independence against the British Empire during the Aresian War of Independence. Its first president would be Markus Willmeng, who would be awarded the position following his rise in popularity for his contribution to the Aresian side of the revolution.
Culture
The Aresian public in general has high respect and admiration for the nation's first president and founder, Markus Willmeng, to the point of sometimes being considered a cult of personality. Another highly respected symbol of Aresia is its flag, which is held in such high regards to the point where it is considered taboo to publically desecrate the flag in any way (i.e. vandalism, tearing, burning), and as such has been made illegal to do so.
Public Agenda
The usual goal of the nation is to rise from the ashes of its colonial past and build itself up as a new, powerful nation that can rival other superpowers such as the United States and China (even though the two are infact allies to Aresia).
Disbandment
By 2330, the Federal Republic of Aresia would be reorganized into the Martian Democratic Republic of Aresia following the years of political consolidation of power from Jamie Winfrey and the NARA party.
Territories
The Federal Republic of Aresia controls a large chunk of the Martian surface, stretching from the eastern regions of Valles Marineris to the western portions of Isidis Planitia. The Martian moons of Phobos and Deimos are held under legal juristiction of the Aresian government, and are controlled as separate territories by the federal government itself. As such, it is the largest legally recognized state on all of Mars.
Military
The Armed Forces of Aresia serves as the military forces of Aresia. It is divided into four branches, the Gound Forces, Aerospace, Space Force and Navy, the latter of which operates mostly as a ceremonial branch due to the very few bodies of water that exist on the Martian surface. The Armed Forces in general are a very powerful military force, and are capable of fighting against most other nation's militaries.
Religion
The Federal Republic of Aresia is a secular state; it does not have an official religion that is officially recognized or integrated by the government. In spite of this, religions of all kinds in Aresia are entirely widespread and respected by the countrie's government and institutes. The most dominant religious institute in Aresia is Christianity, particularly Protestant chruches such as Anglicanism or Lutheranism.
Education
As of 2330, the average literacy rate of Aresia is around 97.46%, with literacy rates between males, females and other genders being relatively equal.
