Tullgrym

Tullgrym, the heart of the Denboldir Kingdom, is carved directly into the largest mountain in the range, a city of fire, stone, and ceaseless labor. Known across Baltharos as the source of every minted coin, its vast halls echo with the rhythmic clang of hammers and the hiss of molten metal. The city’s lifeblood is its magma channels, which fuel both the legendary Magma Grand forge and the immense smelting complexes that keep the world’s economy turning. It is a city of dwarves through and through, practical, industrious, and unyielding, yet beneath its rigid order lies a fierce pride in their craft and heritage.   Despite Demon Lord Krane’s conquest, Tullgrym retains much of its old identity, though now under the watchful eye of Demon Commander Fraxus, whose diligence ensures the city's productivity never falters. For outsiders, it is an awe-inspiring yet oppressive place, where wealth flows like rivers of molten gold, but freedom is as scarce as sunlight deep within its stone-hewn walls. Tullgrym is not just the economic backbone of Arasaka, it is its beating, burning heart. Despite the oppression of Demon Lord Krane and his demonic influence, the people of Tullgrym still stay true to their millenia long traditions and main holiday of Splendorfest. The proud dwarven soul sings loud every 10 years where entire city takes work off for 3 days and spends the 3 days eating, drinking, being merry and all inbetween. There have even been accounts of Demon Commander Fraxus joining in on the festivities despite his formal nature. People from all over the Denboldir Kingdom travel to their capital city to celebrate.

Demographics

Tullgrym is overwhelmingly dwarvish, with generations of mountain clans forming its core society. Gnomes thrive as engineers and precision workers, while outsiders rarely settle long-term due to the strict regulations and insular culture. Demons, while present, are sparse and mostly stationed as overseers or administrators under Demon Commander Fraxus.

Government

The city is officially ruled by King Bronté, chosen by the Council of Artisans and Smiths, a body of master crafters who dictate production priorities. However, since the demon conquest, Demon Commander Fraxus serves as Krane’s representative, ensuring coin production and resource flow remain uninterrupted.

Defences

Though walls and military presence are minimal post-conquest, the city’s natural fortress-like design makes it nearly impenetrable. Layered gates, collapsible tunnels, and magma vents provide devastating defensive measures if ever reactivated. Demon Commander Fraxus commands a specialized garrison of disciplined demons and dwarves.

Industry & Trade

Tullgrym exports finished coins, weapons, armor, and luxury metals. Imports are rare but include enchanted woods and rare beast hides from other continents. Trade is tightly regulated under Demon Lord Krane, making Tullgrym a hub of wealth yet a nightmare for smugglers.

Infrastructure

Built directly into the largest mountain of the Denboldir range, Tullgrym is a multi-tiered bastion of stone, iron, and gold. Its vast interior includes living quarters, mining tunnels, forges, vaults, and distribution halls. Magma channels run through the city to fuel the colossal foundries, with underground rail systems moving ore and coin.

Assets

Tullgrym mints every coin in the world, from copper to platinum, making it the economic backbone of Baltharos. It also houses the Magma Grand, the largest forge on the continent, capable of producing weapons and artifacts of legendary quality. Its mineral wealth is unmatched, with endless veins of ore, gems, and fuel.

History

Founded over a millennia and a half ago to harness the mountain’s infinite wealth, Tullgrym rose as the center of dwarvish culture and coinage. Legends say the Magma Grand was blessed by Hilda goddess of the Forge, herself. Its subjugation by Krane marked the first domino in Arasaka’s fall, yet the city continues its ancient traditions, albeit under demonic watch.

Architecture

Tullgrym is a masterpiece of dwarvish design: monumental stone halls, golden trim, and iron-latticed bridges spanning magma rivers. Every surface bears intricate runes telling the city’s history, glowing faintly with forge-light.

Natural Resources

The mountain provides near-limitless veins of gold, platinum, silver, iron, coal, gemstones, and rare magical crystals. Magma channels offer infinite heat for forges, making Tullgrym self-sustaining in both industry and defense.
