The tribe of Northern Barbarians of Avenaria. This tribe venerates the Fox as their totem.
This tribe tends to be skittish, and likes to remain on the outskirts of any kind of moot. They tend to make friends slowly, but are fiercely loyal. The are pack hunters who generally take down smaller prey that are more easily defeated.

Naming Traditions
Feminine names
All names until the naming rite has been concluded, usually consist of descriptive phraseology derived from something seen during the child's birth. After passing the rite to adulthood the child is given, or chooses a true name. Some examples from the Mari, Nessa, Brede, Mureal, Calibrid, Crera, Juliana, More, Calyvorri, Conla, Margaret. Often women will choose names of great ancestors or heroines. By tradition all women of the tribe are referred to by the honorific "mage" even if they possess no magical ability

Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Only women of the tribe are allowed to read and write, becoming educated, this leads to all women of the Fox tribe able to cast arcane magic of some degree. Most of the time sticking with illusion, or transmutation schools of magic. It is not uncommon to find women of the tribe taking up the Arcane Trickster class. Also because of this women are the historians and law makers of the tribe. The Chief Matriarch presides over all her clan's disputes.
The Clan Matriarchy is a position that the current Matriarch will pass down to who she deems to be the most worth successor. The needs of the clan determine what kind of new Matriarch is chosen. Often the Fox Matriarch will consult the Eagle Seer for the Eagle Seer's ability to foresee the future, letting the Fox Matriarch know when she should step down, and what kind of Matriarch is needed.

When a mage loses their warrior, they join the "Coven of Vixens" which is comprised of all other widows. The Crones work together to protect the tribe, weaving webs of spellwork around the borders. The Watchers and Weavers. They are on the fringes of society because they couldn't keep their Warrior alive, but still tasked with protecting the tribe.

In order to leave more honor to their family line they strive to take out the biggest threat to the tribe with reckless abandon, often charging headlong towards the danger, wearing no armor and armed with with deadly armament. Any Hunt member killed in this fashion is considered a hero to the tribe.

Common Taboos
Cowardice in the face of battle is considered a taboo. It shows that the warrior has no faith in their witch. Since the matches are all determined by the Matriarch, and blessed by the gods during the Ritual of Harmony, it is considered an affront to both the tribe and the gods.

Courtship Ideals
Marriages are arranged by the Matriarch, who pairs the strongest mages with the strongest warriors. To ensure the potential match is a strong one, the warrior is sent on a hunt to bring back a kill. The meat from the kill is prepared by the warrior, and cooked using magical fire presented by the mage. If the match is true, the shared meal will induce a dream like state in the two who are to be joined. If not, it will create a revulsion between the two, proving that it was not a match to be made.
Relationship Ideals
Ideally, the marriages matched by the Matriarch will last a lifetime. Each mage matching with only one warrior, once the Ritual of Harmony determines a match is valid, that match lasts past the death of the one of the couple.
