Cycles of Tragedy

κύκλος τραγῳδίας-Curse of mortals   The First of three infection to spread across the planes. The κύκλος τραγῳδίας (Kyklos Tragoldia) was a deadly disases. it was a spell plague that consume the users of magic. When a spell caster pushes beyond their limits, they upset the balance of Aether/Ether within them. This magic grows into a tumor like growth but it’s connected to their soul. A growth with connections to the negative plane. It feeds on their mana instead of their life force like the negative plane normally does. This leads to a mass forming on their person that looks similar to burn marks all the way up too fully transforming the user into a monster.   Kyklos tragōidía has been label to four staged listed below and what they look like.   ὕβρις (hŭ́bris)(HOO-bris)-Hubris:   Named after Hubris as most who gain Kyklos do so because they do not respect the balance of elements and quintessence leading to the imbalance to be corrected with the Void (A tumor that feeds on magic) it only looks like slight darkening of the skin to a black hue and limited effects on one’s magic. This stage it seems to have a positive effect allowing the user to cast one higher level spell then what they normally can at no cost.   Ἄτη (Atē) (AA-t-ee)-Ate   This stage the darkening skin beings to grow mass and transform into a mass of black and red. It starts with just bumps that can absorb magic. It will begin to infected one’s sense of self causing them to crave more and more magic. Using the Bumps as a jumping off point. As it eats away at the mana in the user and the mana it is given soon the mass will infect the host further and allow magic of a 2nd level higher than their limit be casted for free.   Νέμεσις (Nemesis) (Neh-meh-sis)—Nemesis   The third stage and the worse mentality for most people. During this stage the bumps have consumed the body part and hollowed it away leaving a husk of an arm. The arm looks like it house bats in a cave system of the arm. Magic is draw to the mass. Causing spells to back fire towards the caster instead of intended target. The Ego has been eaten way and those who have a strong mind can crawl back some type of personhood. Those who can’t with stand the pain are consume with the need for more magic and knowledge. Those who can’t get it are consumed by their infection transformed into Amalgamate of Biomass that feeds on magic.   τίσι (tisí) (Tee-see)-Tisis   The final stage not much research is known about this stage. What few details doctors have learn is that Amalgamates are the first stage of the final process of infected people. It is believed that one of two events happen. Either the mass dies unable to feed and decays away back to the negative plane. The second option is it grow into either a bigger biomass form or into a eldritch horror one form that has been seen is a spider like creature that whispered into the mind of the doctor. Realty seem to wrap around this person and there connection with the spider deepen but the doctor was deemed mad and has been killed.
