Syndolrin (Half-Elf)
Basic Information
Anatomy
Bipedal humanoid
Genetics and Reproduction
Sexual reproduction between a male and female with the mother carrying her young for about 10 months.
Growth Rate & Stages
Syndolrin grow-up at about about the same rate as humans, reaching full maturity at about 21 years of age and entering puberty at around 12. However they do live much longer than humans.
Ecology and Habitats
Syndolrin can be found anywhere that either elves or humans would thrive. They do not share their elven parents' yearning for the deep woods nor do they posses the human tendency to congregate into over populated mega-cities; rather younger and lighter forests or moderate villages with a healthy bustle seem to suit them just fine.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Half-elves are omnivores who enjoy a wide variety of foods.
Biological Cycle
In late spring and early fall, when nights are invigoratingly cool after a hot day and the stars shine clear in the sky, the younger and older syndolrin (those not yet settled with a family or beyond their child rearing years) may find themselves taken with a strong wanderlust and urge to seek adventure.

There eyes tend to be just noticeably larger than a humans with a slight almost shape and slight tilt. Their ears are more prominent than a humans with a clearly defined point at the upper tip that is slightly softer than a true elf's, as well as a slight point on the outer edge and point on the lower lobe.
Average Intelligence
Comparable to humans, somewhat inclined towards studious or philosophical thought.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Vision and hearing are slightly superior to their human forebears, but a little less than their elven kin; particularly in low light conditions such as starlight or moonlight. Other senses are comparable to a human.
Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Common, Elven, and those of their local communities and ethnicity.
History
Half-elves are not a young race on Aurus, they are only nominally younger than humans. Their early histroy, during the Younger Days and for a few thousand years after finds that most half-elves are children of an elf and some other species. Humans were above and beyond the majority of these other races, but halflings, dwarves, and even the odd dragon certainly made their own contributions to the bloodline. By the time the War of Endings was in full swing, half-elves world wide had grown tired of second-class citizen status wherever they went and began to come together into their own communities. By the time of the Upstart's Rebellion, 70-80% of new half-elves born, were children to two half-elven parents and their numbers had made then a statistically significant race in their own right. When the dragonmarks began appearing, the Syndolrin were among the first to manifest them, although they were slower to organize into trade houses to take advantage of those marks than humans and orcs.
