Py'rah (pɛɪraː)
Py'rah (Undercommon : პეირა; Runic: ᛈᛁᚱᚨ; Khem: Πυρα; Demonic: ߔߌߙߊߤ) is one of the seven elemental deities. He is bound to the element of Darkness and he is the god of death and madness. Worship of Py'rah is viewed in disgust by everyone outside of its religion. Certain nations on Milea have declared it completely illegal, yet in some playes it is tolerated.
For the longest of time, followers of Py'rah would life in harmony with followers from the other deities. Until a certain event shook the world. Suddenly opinions shifted and the Incursions were formed. Now they found themselves an outcast in their own homes. They quickly and quietly shifted from centralized worship in to a new form of fractured cultists.
The Incursions are a coalition of the other deities with the single purpose of wiping ou the followers of Py'rah. in their olden days they were a ragtag group of passionate followers and paladins. Later they became a single unified and organzied force to be reckoned with.
History
Evidence of Py'rah's existance is interpreted differently by different theologists. They can all agree on that Py'rah has been transformed froma nother deity, yet which one remains clear. There are three different paths which are laid out as Py'rah precursors. They are: Nimrod, god of death; Thuden, god of trickery and Dhiznir, god of darkness. All of them share its similarities whith Py'rah and they have differences as well. Epithets
Py'rah is one the seven elemtnals, which means that his worship has shattered into different epithets. The subject of these may vary from a guarding patron to a worship of his power. The worship of Py'rah, due to the outlwament of worship, is divided into cults.Py'rah Thanathos
Py'rah Thanathos is the epithet which worships the King of the Underword. While access to this place is improbable, many claim that Py'rah is the king of the Underworld. They worship the undead and strive to become one in the future and tehy view them as holy figures. Yet this is not a cult of suicide enthousiats, as they have eastablished a code of cowardice named the Kodikas Deilias.Py'rah Margos
Py'rah Margos is the mad epithet. Him and his followers have driven mad by the prophecy of Ragnarok. This has caused them to be paranoid of every single event that unfolds. When his followers eventually descended into hermits, Py'rah Margos broke his silence and intevened to show them the machination of the afterlife. This caused the transition from hiding into chaos. They were shown what is supposed to be a msytery and that cuased them to know what matters and doesn't.Py'rah Aither
Py'rah Aither is the epithet of Deception. This epithet is seen as one of the lesser evil epithets of Py'rah, as the act of deception can range from fairly small to gargantious in consequences. Py'rah is therfore aslo the patron of outcasts and liars. He is a open heart to the ones abandoned. Yet he isn't all sunshine and rainbows and will take the chance to influence his followers in the most high pressure situation. He pressures them to hide the truth anc to convince the opposer of the most evil and vile facts.Py'rah Nyx
Py'rah Nyx is the epithet of the Night. Its followers are those who lurk in shadows. The cult meets at night to worship under the power and influence of the moon and in the expansive shadows. During the day they are concealed in the high traffic of the urban environment. The first evidence of the Cult of Nyx is found simultaneously with rise of the first cities in the Imperial League. Most notably this refers to the imperial capital of Panin.Mythology
Py'rah is one of the gods without an ascension. He was directly created from the element of Darkness. In the mythological era, Py'rah lived in harmony with the other deities. Yet the arrival of the humans gave Py'rah the last part of puzzle. He then unleash disaster after disaster upon the humans, until they were nearly extinct. He was stopped by Thesren, Aenar and Yara in Py'rah's Banishment. When he was bansihed to the Underworld, he then started to make it his kingdom. He became King of the Underworld and has created machinations yet unseen to the ones living above.Cultural
Illud Mortis
The Illud Mortis is the one book which is said to be written by Py'rah himself. He calls his wors in this book the dark truth. He tells his tales of the afterlife, the underworld and the power of the dark. During the First Incursion this book was a prized artifact, yet they succeeded into hiding it from them. Except that in th estruglle they lost the book as well. Nevertheless hunderds of copies exist all over the continent, but the orignal is still hidden somewehre.Incursion
