Villa of Master Scribe Sh'arr
Building
Master Scribe Sh'aar has a villa located in Whadi's North District. It is a small villa in comparison to others that can be found in this district and incomparable to the posh villas from Whadi's Casltle District. However it is where the master scribe passes most of his time studying and researching ancient texts. It is a comfortable one-floor building like most in the city and the owner loves to entertain his close friends and notable guests.
Exterior
Walls
The walls, more like a palisade for young gnomes, is barely two and a half feet high but has some colored clay tiles at each support location, roughly every 20'. It's purpose is more a delimiter than an actual functional unit.
Terrasse
The minuscule terrasse is located at the rear of the house. It is crammed between the palisade and the walls. Barely enough to hold a coffee table and a couple of chairs, this is where the Scribe likes to take his tea with a bit of privacy.
Rooftop
The rooftop is the grandiose entertainment location of the home. It can be setup in many ways from simple terrasse with a few chairs and tables, to a full private theater stage or exterior banquet hall. Lately it is known to host a show from Les Troubadours Tordants.
Interior
Vestibule
This is merely a welcoming area for guests. It is plainly decorated, just enough to give the vibe for the home and it's master. Visitors can hang articles of clothing and store footwear if desired.
Salon
The salon is the main entertaining area of the house. It is well furnished, have several low tables, cushions, divans and all the amenities required to make guests comfortable.
Library
This is the favorite room of Master Scribe Sh'arr. This is where is spend the vast majority of his time. He can concentrate on reading on ancient tomes and scripts and still do quite a bit of writing to fancy his personal devices. This room is totally off-limit for staff and kept locked at all times. Staff are only allowed in at the explicit request of the scribe to provide sustenance or supplies.
The room is luxioursly well furnished. The exterior wall is covered by multiple libraries holding tomes, grimoires and other bound written content. A glass cabinet on the south wall holds scrolls, vellum and other unconventional written content. A fine carpet in the middle of the room absorb sounds and warms up the room. Other walls are covered with shelves holding scripting materials.
The main desk can be found at the north end of the room. Favorite piece of furniture of the Scribe, it has been moved from his previous offices into his retirement home. It has several locked drawers hiding away is favorite inks and other personal items.
Pantry
The pantry holds various comestible goods and also storage area. It has a trapdoor in a corner to allow access to the cellar.
Cellar
The cellar is more like a hole in the ground with a shaky wooden ladder. It's sole purpose is to keep the ale and certain aliments cool in the ground.
Kitchen
Very utilitarian, this room, although large for a mansion of this size, is well furnished and the main area where the staff works and hang.
Dining Hall
The hall is central to the house and made to impress with its exotic wooden table, very comfortable seating, paintings on the wall; silverware and other decorations.
Master Bedroom
Built solely for rest and comfort, this room is very dark and has lots of fabric items to dull the sounds of the city. Only used four to five hours per day, this is where and old man foresee a quiet death in his sleep.
Guest Bedroom
This room is kept to host guests that drank a bit too much or are travelling from far away. Simple but have all the accommodations to make them feel welcome.
Servant Bedroom
This is the bedroom used by the errand boy when not lent to guests as, the errand boy must be available day and night for any task. Very minimalistic, it is still acceptable for guests when in need of a second bedroom.
Hallway
This is a simple hallway allowing to freely walk between the various rooms of the first floor. It also has a simple wooden staircase leading to the rooftop. It connects to the backyard door.
Staff
Bih'bhi
He's a decent cook, a male Halfling in his late twenties and have etiquette that would make any butler feel threatened. he has floppy ears a short neatly trimmed goatee that give s him a certain flair.
Ghen'Vhievre
She's the maid, an Air Genasi , in her mid twenties, in charge of serving refreshments and keeping the place tidy. She has silvery hair, have pale tatoos on her right arm and wear some simple jewelery, which is unusual for a servant.
Kah'rim
Human slave roughly 10 years old, he's the errand-boy. In charge of delivering messages, fetching last minute items in the market. He's not entirely unhappy with his situation, well treated, well fed, he has some status and feels safe in the city.
